ADOPTED CATS 2019

"Pinto" came to us on December 13, 2019 from the Woodstock area where he had been a stray who had been hanging around a house for several months.  He appeared to have problems with his mouth, including the inability to eat well.  Pinto was born about December 13, 2011, so was not a young kitten anymore.  He had probably been on his own for quite some time and had finally found someone who would help him.

Pinto was examined and the following was learned:  he was underweight, had ear mites and fleas and the worst part was that he had marked dental disease.  We've all had a toothache at one point or another and we know how much that hurts.  He also had an ulcerated tongue.

Pinto will receive the medical help he requires.  He is timid, but learning that all these new people, sights and smells are in his best interest for renewed health and a whole new life for him.

On December 18, 2019, Pinto tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV - please read below).  He's a very nice boy who can't wait for a new life to begin with a family of his very own.

On December 31, 2019, Pinto was accepted into his new family in Plaster Rock where he will live with several other FeLV+ cats.  We'd all like to thank Angie and John for taking in these beautiful cats.  Please read about FeLV below.

Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is found in cats worldwide.  It may be spread by saliva, nasal secretions, urine, feces and milk from infected cats.  Cat-to-cat transfer of the virus may occur from a bite wound, during mutual grooming and (though rarely) through the shared use of litter boxes and feeding dishes.  Transfer may also take place from an infected mother cat to her kittens, either before they are born or while they are nursing.

"Lolli" returned to DunRoamin' on December 4, 2019 from Woodstock.  She had originally had come to us from Perth-Andover on July 27, 2014 when her owner had passed away and no one was available to take her in.  She was peeing inappropriately, was matted, had fleas and was pregnant.  Once she was healthy, she was adopted by a family in Woodstock in January, 2015.

Lolli's owner could no longer care for her, so per our adoption contract, she returned to us.  She was cared for at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and was soon ready to go to a new home.  Lolli was born about July 27, 2012.

On December 29, 2019, Lolli was adopted by her new favourite person in Woodstock where she will be his constant companion and get to sleep on his bed at night!  She loves to wake him with a paw on his cheek each morning.  Congratulations to you and your new servant, Lolli!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!  Send photos!

"Feist" came to DunRoamin' on December 27, 2019 from Hartland where he had been hanging around a business looking for food and shelter during these cold winter days.  Employees had been warned against feeding or caring for them, but one person could not stand to see Feist cold and hungry, so food was left out for Feist as well as a live trap so he could get some help.

Feist was brought to DunRoamin' where he was booked for a neuter immediately as well as a medical checkup and rabies vaccine.  He is relatively healthy, although he is very feral - terrified to be around humans to the point that he won't eat or do other normal routines.

On December 28, 2019, Feist was accepted by a very nice lady who will keep him safe, sound, fed and monitored in her barn in Juniper.  He will always have heat, a soft bed and food, and there is also another feral cat who lives there, so he'll have company!  Congratulations on hitting the jackpot, Feist!  It was a scary time, but the rest of your life you will be warm, safe, have a full belly and someone to watch over you.  Merry Christmas!!

"Terrence"  came to us on October 3, 2019 through the NB SPCA where he was a part of a large number of cats and kittens who were living together without assistance.  He had ear mites but was relatively healthy.  He was born about May 3, 2019.

Terrence is a very sweet little boy who loves people.  He was fostered with a family in Gordonsville and he's loving it!  Good luck, Terrence!

On December 27, 2019, Terrence was very happy to get a late Christmas present when he was adopted by his foster family!  Congratulations, Terrence!  Merry Christmas!!

"O'Riley" came to us on January 26, 2019 from the Pole Hill area where he had become seriously ill.  Examination by his vet revealed that his ureter was blocked and he required immediate and intensive medical care which his family was unable to undertake.  O'Riley was only about three years old, born about January 26, 2016.

O'Riley was accepted by DunRoamin' and began his intensive medical treatment.  He was placed on medication and under observation to determine what he needed to get better.  He is a beautiful little boy who was not neutered or vaccinated, but he was as soon as he was back to health.   O'Riley requires a prescription diet of Royal Canin Urinary S/O food to maintain his health and ensure that he does not block again.  We have had dozens of cats on the diet and have never once had a recurrence as long as they stay on this diet!  He loves his friend Waffles, and we're hoping they can be adopted together.

On December 27, 2019, O'Riley's dream came true when he and his best friend Waffles were adopted by their foster mother in Holmesville.  They are a complete and official family now!  Congratulations!!

"Waffles" returned to us on March 22, 2019.  He had been adopted into a family a couple of weeks earlier, but allergies became a serious medical concern with his new family, so he returned to us.  He originally came to us from Florenceville on June 29, 2018 where his urinary tract had blocked and his family was unable to undertake the care for his recovery.  His vet and new best friend was quick to put him back on the road to recovery and he's been just fine ever since.

Waffles must eat Royal Canin Urinary S/O food ONLY for the rest of his life (it prevents him from blocking, which he is prone to do).  Should he eat anything other than S/O food, he will most probably experience problems, but we have had dozens of cats who eat Royal Canin Urinary S/O and there has never been a problem if they remain on this food - it's great!  Waffles was born about November 1, 2012 and is a Sweetheart with a Capital "S."  And he LOVES to play!

Waffles was a bit overweight but it didn't take long to remedy that.  He is loving, friendly and affectionate - and he loves his best friend O'Riley.  It would be wonderful if they could both go to a home together.

On December 27, 2019, Waffles was adopted into a family in Holmesville, NB, and guess what??  O'Riley got to go with him!  They had both been fostered together in Holmesville and it's now official - they're staying!  Congratulations, Waffles!  Congratulations, O'Riley!!

"Phillip" and "Brazen" came to us on October 11, 2019 through the NB SPCA.  Phillip was born about June 11, 2019 and Brazen was born about April 11, 2019 and, along with more than a dozen other cats, were living in a building that was about to be demolished.   They had fleas and ear mites but were otherwise relatively healthy.  They had no option for life if we did not accept them, so they joined our family and awaited their chance at a loving home.

Brazen has been spayed, Phillip has been neutered and both have completed their vaccine protoco, been tested for FIV and FeLV, treated for parasitesl and are ready to go to a new home.  Brazen is a beautiful little buff-orange girl who loves people.  She and her best friend Phillip are very close - they play, cuddle and groom each other.  If one is out of sight of the other, they meow for each other.  For that reason, they must go to a home together - they've never been apart and Brazen would miss her brother way too much - she's much less confident and secure when he is not with her..

On November 30, 2019, Phillip and Brazen went to The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe to visit with friends and perhaps meet their new family.  Please stop in to The Purrfect Cup - it's a wonderful place with great food, drink, staff and cats!!

On December 20, 2019, Phillip and Brazen were adopted together to a wonderful family in Fredericton where they will join the household and be spoiled each and every minute by their new best friend who has named them Ross and Monica after her two favourite characters from the Friends TV show.  Perfect names!  Congratulations!  Please don't forget to send lots of photos so we can watch you grow up.  Merry Christmas to you and your new family!!

"Apex" came to us from the NB SPCA on June 19, 2019, when she had been rescued, along with many friends and relatives, from a home which was overrun with cats.  Apex was born about June 19, 2018 and is a sibling to Andretti, Yoshi, Kaygan and Tolstoy, all of whom have been adopted.

Apex is a very nice little girl.  She initially had some problems with her ears, but that has been rectified and she is perfectly fine now.  She loves people.  Come meet her!

As of November 16, 2019, Apex stayed with her friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton.  Please drop in, enjoy a great coffee and snack and spend some time with some truly adorable cats!  Tell them DunRoamin' sent you!

On December 14, 2019, Apex got the Christmas present she'd been praying for her entire life when she was adopted by a young lady from Fredericton where she'll live happily ever after.  Remember to send lots of photos, Apex.  We'll miss you!  Thanks to all our friends at The Purrfect Cup for taking such great care of you!

"Hammie" came to us on October 12, 2019 from Benton where he had been found on the road.  His injuries included cuts, scrapes and scratches to his head, face, nose and mouth, all consistent with having been thrown from a vehicle.  He also has a radial fracture on his right front leg.  That must hurt.  He is grateful to receive help.  He was born about August 3, 2019.

Hammie is receiving the best of medical care.  He is neutered, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for all parasites and he's anxious to have people in his life who truly deserve him and vice versa.  He had to wear a splint and bandage to keep his front leg safe until it healed, but they are no longer required and he's doing very well.  He is a very vocal and affectionate little boy who is anxious to start the next part of his life with a loving family.

On December 2, 2019, Hammie was so very fortunate to be adopted by a family in Woodstock.  He'll have the best life and the best care - all of which he deserves so very much!  Congratulations, Hammie!  Send lots of photos!!

"Salvation" came to us on February 11, 2019 from Oakland where she was hanging around a home but was not able to receive the care she required.   She was cold and had a bad upper respiratory infection.  She required medical care immediately and was slowly starting to do better.  She was born about February 11, 2017 and is exceptionally grateful for the warm, soft bed, food and care she is receiving.  Her sister, Sally Ann (previously adopted), came to us the same day and was not in good shape, but with care from the Florenceville Vet Clinic was soon ready for a permanent home..

Salvation received all the medical care she required and has been vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and spayed.  Now she hopes someone will choose her to be a permanent family member where she can live out her life with warmth, food, safety and love.  We all deserve that.

As of April 10, 2019, she was doing better but the ulcers in her mouth were not quite fully healed.  She had some teeth removed the week of March 25, 2019 and is on new medications which helps her immensely.  This medication is gradually being reduced and she'll need to be rechecked to see how she's doing in mid-January, 2020.  She is a beautiful little girl who appreciates all the assistance she has received since she first came to us in mid-February.  She's really affectionate and would love to live with a family.  She thanks her vet for all the attention, concern, experience and care she has received.

On December 1, 2019, Salvation received a wonderful early Christmas present when she was adopted by a fantastic couple who lives in Fredericton.  On October 19, 2019,  they had adopted our Nathan (renamed Whiskey) and Thelonius (renamed Jake), two little one-eyed kittens, and wanted to make another deserving cat part of their family.  Thank you so much for your kindness, compassion and support for these beautiful cats.  We are all grateful for your love for them.

"Binx" came to us on October 26, 2019 from Pembroke.  He had been hanging around a house for about two weeks but had become injured.  He is an exceptionally cuddly and affectionate little boy who was born about October 26, 2017.

Binx had an open, matted wound on his neck, a large polyp in his infected ears and he had numerous injuries on his paws.  Despite all that, he loves everyone and is grateful that someone is helping him.  He was treated for his injuries and given antibiotics and pain medication to help him get better, which he's doing very well.  He has a couple of superficial wounds which are still healing, but he'll be fine.  If you like cuddle cats, you need to come meet him!!

On November 30, 2019, Binx met a young couple from Prince William who fell in love with him - he gave them no choice!  They had originally contemplated two cats and had chosen them, but Binx had other plans!  He is now the third newest member of this family, along with Fortitude and Ilya (see below)!  Congratulations, Binx, way to win hearts!   Don't forget your DunRoamin' friends - send photos!!

"Fortitude" came to us on June 6, 2019 from the Hartland area where she was one of approximately twenty cats who were living in and around a house.  Although they had food, they had not been spayed or neutered and were multiplying by litters of kittens who were also not spayed or neutered, and so the cycle continues.

Fortitude was examined by her new best vet friend who diagnosed a nasal condition which required medical intervention.  She also required work on her teeth and she had been exposed to fleas and ear mites.  Fortitude had also recently nursed kittens.  She was born about June 6, 2013, so had most probably given birth to many of the cats in this colony.

Fortitude has undergone all required medical care.  She is spayed, tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Feline Leukemia, fully vaccinated and treated for all parasites.  Her dental work is completed and she feels much better and is ready to go to a home.  She is a beautiful little girl, and her name fits her - she has it in spades!  At six years old already, she's happy for a chance at a nice, warm, safe, quiet household where she can get lots of cuddles and attention.  She's already getting close to her senior years and she's grateful that she has the chance to live a better life.  Fortitude has a "snorky" sound when she breathes as a result of her nasal condition, but it does not hinder her in any way from being so cute, loving and affectionate!

On November 30, 2019, Fortitude hit the jackpot when she met a young couple from Prince William who want her to join their family!  And to top it off, her friends Ilya and Binx (see above and below) were adopted as well!  Three new family members!  Congratulations!  PLEASE send us lots of photos!  We're so happy for all three of you!

"Ilya" came to us from Grafton on September 13, 2019.  He had mild tartar, a previously-amputated LFL and diarrhea.  His family was unable to care for him.  He was treated for his medical concerns and is now doing well.  All he needs is a diet of fibre to control his diarrhea - it's that simple!  Ilya was born about  September 17, 2012 and is a very loving and social little boy.  He just needs some help - and someone to love and care for him.

On November 30, 2019, Ilya was formally adopted by a very loving young couple from Prince William who had fallen in love with his wonderful personality.  And to top it off, his friends Fortitude and Binx (see above) were adopted as well!  Three new family members!  Congratulations!  PLEASE send us lots of photos!  We're so happy for all three of you!

"Stella" came to us on the late afternoon of Friday, August 2, 2019.  She, along with her three kittens, Idris, Elba and Scooch, had been left in an empty apartment near Nackawic for at least three days without food or water.  No one would take these little ones in.  If we said no, they would most probably not survive because they would be abandoned to survive on their own.  Stella was born about August 1, 2018.

Stella and her three babies were completely healthy with no medical concerns at all except that they had fleas which were immediately treated.  Stella is the 183rd stray we have taken in this year, 47 more than we had accepted in 2017 and 34 more than we had taken in by this time last year.

On November 16, 2019, Stella went to stay with her friends at The Purrfect Cup in Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, NB where she had a wonderful time with all her new friends while she awaited a new home.  Maybe she'll meet her new family there!  Please come check out The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe.  Great food, great coffee, great staff and great kitty company!!

On November 30, 2019, Stella met a young couple who had decided they couldn't live without her.  She will now be the recipient of all the spoiling she can get in Fredericton!   Congratulations, Stella!  Send photos!!

"Sirius" came to us from the Hartland area on May 26, 2019, along with nine others.   Sirius was born about November 26, 2016 and was missing the tips of her ears, most probably due to old frostbite injuries.  She had mild tartar on her teeth and was nursing four male kittens born about April 26, 2019:  Dumbledore, Diggory, Hairy Pawter and Flitwicka.

Sirius had an old corneal perforation on her right eye, but she is fine - it has healed and she seems to experience no on-going difficulty.  Sirius nursed her kittens until they could be weaned and she has been spayed so that she doesn't have to have more babies.  She also tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and is now fully vaccinated.  She looks forward to a new  home.  She would like to thank Dr Monteith for taking time on her day off to help retrieve, examine and treat her and her family.

On November 30, 2019, Sirius hit the jackpot when a young girl from Fredericton gave her a very loving home.  She had originally had her heart set on a young kitten, but she absolutely fell head over heels for Sirius and couldn't think about any other cat.  You have a wonderful family now, Sirius, where you'll be loved and cared for for the rest of your life.  Congratulations!  Please send lots of photos!

"Nadia" & "Brinkley" came to us on October 3, 2019 from the  NB SPCA.  They were rescued from a place where there were far too many cats living together without assistance.  As winter is coming, they needed a loving home and enough food to feed them all.  Nadia and Brinkley were born about July 3, 2019 and are sweethearts.

These two little kittens don't know how NOT to purr!  And purr loudly!!  They are so very attentive to humans and love each and every one dearly.  If you're looking for cuddle cats, they're the ones you need to meet!  They love each other and we would like them to stay together.  They have never been separated and need each other - and a few humans - to share their love of life.

They hope to be ready for homes in early November - they can't wait!  On November 16, 2019, they went to stay with our friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Two Nations Crossing - drop in and have a coffee and a cat cuddle.  You'll LOVE this cafe!  Within ten minutes they owned the place and had won over everyone with their cuteness and playfulness!  Come meet them!

On November 30, 2019, Nadia and Brinkley were SO very excited to learn that the rest of their lives would be spent in a home in Rothesay where they would be kept safe and loved forever.  Congratulations, furballs!!  Send lots of photos!!

Nadia & Brinkley

"Tirade" came to us on April 5, 2019 from Summerfield where she had given birth on April 1, 2019, to four baby kittens, Audio, Video, Doppler and Zadann, who were not doing well.  Their new vet and their new vet tech friends went immediately to work to try to save them all, but sadly, Zadann was not able to survive.  You can read about him on our Pet Memorials page.

Tirade was born about April 5, 2016 and had severe upper respiratory infection.  She did not have much milk for her babies, so kind and caring vet techs immediately began warming and feeding them by syringe.  They were taken home by a tech so that they could receive continual medical care on a 24-hour basis.  The babies, Audio and Video, are girls and have since been adopted - you can see them on our Adopted Cats page.

Tirade is a beautiful little girl who hopes for a new and permanent home very soon.  She has lots of spunk and attitude, but when she says she's your girl, she means it!

On November 29, 2019, Tirade got her very best wish when she was adopted by a senior couple from Kilburn.  She will rule the roost and occupy a lap every second she possibly can!  Congratulations, Tirade!  And congratulations to your new family!

"Diaz" came to us on October 13, 2019 from the Greenfield area where she was found wandering on the road all alone late at night.  She was cold and happy to climb onto a warm lap in a warm car.  She was born about June 13, 2019.

Diaz was examined by a vet and found to be in decent condition, although she had ear mites which were treated.  She will be spayed and ready for a home as soon as she completes her vaccine protocol.  Right now, we definitely know she is grateful to be warm, fed and safe, and we know she definitely LOVES people!  AND, we definitely know she is beautiful - so does she!!

Diaz loves other cats, dogs and kids.  She loves EVERYONE and is very grateful to have her foster home where she gets to enjoy all of them until she gets a new home!

On November 19, 2019, Diaz was adopted by a very nice couple from Hay Settlement where she enjoys the company and playful antics of her new feline friend, as well as her two human servants.  Congratulations, Diaz!  Send photos!!

"Cortez" came to us on October 11, 2019 through the NB SPCA.  She was born about July 11, 2019 and, along with more than a dozen other cats, was living in a building that was about to be demolished.  She had fleas, ear mites, poor body condition and intestinal parasites.  All have been rectified.

Cortez has been spayed, tested for FIV and FeLV and has completed her vaccine protocol.  On October 26, 2019, she moved to a foster home with her siblings Phillip, Creed and Purr.  She is initially timid when moving to a new environment, but she has a lion-sized purr and once she's comfortable, that will be all you'll be able to hear!  She'd like to have a home with one of her siblings, or have another cat friend to join in a new home.  She definitely loves cat company.

On November 7, 2019, Cortez went to stay with her friends at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton.  Drop in, have a cup and enjoy some kitty company!

On November 16, 2019, Cortez was adopted to a young man from Scotch Lake where she will have the best life ever!  She looks forward to having a wonderful relationship with her new feline sibling and both her humans.  She considers herself a very lucky little girl and thanks all who made this new life possible for her.

"Purr" and her brother "Creed" came to us on October 11, 2019 through the NB SPCA.  They were born about July 11, 2019 and, along with more than a dozen other cats, were living in a building that was about to be demolished.  They had fleas, ear mites, poor body condition and intestinal parasites.  All have been rectified.

Purr is aptly named - she is ALWAYS purring!  She loves to cuddle and if she's not being cuddled, she meows until she gets picked up!  She is extremely sweet!  Creed was a little on the shy side when moving to a new environment, and he seems more comfortable with another cat around, so we hoped he might get a home with Purr to keep him company - they love each other.

Purr has been spayed, Creed has been neutered and both have been tested for FIV and FeLV, fully vaccinated and treated for all parasites.  They are anxious to start their new life in a permanent home!  On November 7, 2019, Purr and Creed went to stay with her friends at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, where they had a blast!

On November 16, 2019, Purr and Creed were adopted by a family in Cummings Cove where they'll have the life they have dreamed of.  Congratulations, little ones.  Please send lots of photos and keep us up to date on all the wonderful things in your new life!

"Higgins" originally came to us on June 11, 2019, from the NB SPCA where she, her mom Blanca and brothers had been rescued from a place where she did not receive the care or attention she required.  She had a very bad case of upper respiratory infection, she was dehydrated and her eyes were glued shut with infection.  Thankfully, medical care cured all these woes and she was soon happy and healthy.

On September 19, 2019, Higgins and her mom Blanca were adopted to a home, but their kitten antics proved too much for their adopters so they were returned on October 3rd.  Blanca and Higgins love each other, love to run, play and wrestle as kittens do, so if you love that about cats, these are your girls!

On October 6, 2019, Higgins and her mom Blanca went to stay with our friends at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, NB.  It is a wonderful cat cafe - please drop in.  We KNOW you'll love it!  Higgins won herself a reputation for being extremely active and interested in everything, especially The Purrfect Cup's food!  She routinely invited herself to share in treats brought into her jurisdiction and found places to be and things to do that most others would not have the imagination for!  She particularly loved making work for Craig, Purrfect Cup's manager and we think she might have been his favourite!

On November 16, 2019, Higgins was adopted by a young lady from Fredericton who welcomes her energy and purrsonality.  We'll all miss you, Higgins.  Send lots of photos - and we can't wait hear what you've gotten into next!!

"Crompton" came to us on September 19, 2019 from Richmond Corner where he was a stray who was not in good shape.  He had ear mites, fleas, conjunctivitis, ocular discharge and was covered in wounds most likely sustained in fights in an attempt to survive.

Crompton was treated for all his medical needs, was neutered, fully vaccinated and treated for all parasites.  He was born about September 19, 2016.  Crompton has been a true sweetheart and gentleman during his entire time with us.  He loves everyone and everything and is very grateful for his new life.

On November 16, 2019, Crompton was very fortunate to be adopted by a young lady in Fredericton where he becomes a new brother for our Brittania who was adopted on August 9, 2019.  Congratulations to everyone!   Thanks to your family for adopting another DunRoamin' cat!

Brittania

"Tabasco" and six kittens, Bechamel (see below) , Hollandaise, Ragout, Ponzu, Pesto and Marinara all came to us on August 29, 2019 where they were abandoned in a box outside the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  By the time they were noticed, they had been there way too long, because the box was soaking wet and they were cold, wet, miserable, sick and hungry.  It had rained most of the night and they had no way to get out of their circumstances.  All were sick or injured.  Two kittens, Hollandaise and Ragout, were younger than the other four, so were not of the same litter - all just products of more unwanted cats.  PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!

These seven whom no one wanted added to our already-excessive numbers:  27 accepted in May, 60 in June, 20 in July and 36 in August - all sick, injured, abandoned and/or abused who had no one to accept responsibility for them.  PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!

Tabasco is a beautiful, friendly, loving cat who is very good to her kittens.  She (and they) have obviously belonged to someone.  Tabasco was born about August 29, 2018.  She had a scab on the left side of her neck, was covered in flea dirt and was very skinny.  She has now been spayed, fully vaccinated, treated for her parasites and tested for FIV AND FeLV.   She and her daughter, Bechemel, were fostered by a very kind and loving couple in Coldstream and were waiting for a home . . .  They would like to be adopted together if at all possible.

On November 15, 2019, their dream came true when they were both adopted by a very nice couple from Simonds, NB.  They'll always be together now, and they (and we) are very happy for them.  Thanks for giving them both a home where they can be toghether forever!

Bechemell & her mom, Tabasco

"Bechamel," Tabasco (see above), Ragout, Hollandaise, Ponzu, Marinara and Pesto all became wards of DunRoamin' on August 29, 2019 after having been abandoned in a cardboard box outside the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  By the time they were noticed, they had been there way too long, because the box was soaking wet and they were cold, wet, miserable, sick and hungry.  It had rained most of the night and they had no way to get out of their circumstances.  All were sick or injured.  Ragout and Hollandaise were younger than the other four, so were not of the same litter - just products of more unwanted cats.  PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!

Bechamel was born about June 20, 2019 so was only about 10 weeks old.  She had a poor body condition, fleas and ear mites - not pleasant at all for such a little girl.

These seven added to our already-excessive numbers:  27 accepted in May, 60 in June, 20 in July and 36 in August - all sick, injured, abandoned and/or abused who had no one to accept responsibility for them.   PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!

Bechamel received the medical care she required, has been spayed, vaccinated, treated for her parasites and tested for FIV AND FeLV.  She is very attached to her mom, Tabasco (see above) and would like to go to a home together.  Bechamel LOVES to play with balls - she never tires of it!, and her foster parents in Coldstream make sure they get all the love and play they want.  Thank you!

On November 15, 2019, their dream came true when they were adopted together by a very nice couple from Simonds.   They will have a wonderful life together!  Thank you so much for giving them both a home!  Please send lots of photos!

"Winnie" came to us on October 11, 2019 through the NB SPCA.  She was born about July 11, 2019 and, along with more than a dozen other cats, was living in a building that was about to be demolished.  She had fleas, ear mites, poor body condition and intestinal parasites.  All these problems have been rectified.

Winnie has been spayed, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLFV and treated for all parasites.  She has great friends, nutritious food and all the care she requires and deserves.  She hopes for a new home in mid-November.  She had a bit of upper respiratory infection, but is much better now.  She is anxious for a new home soon!  She'd love it if she could have another feline friend in the home.

On November 8, 2019, a young lady and her dad arrived to take Winnie to her new home.  She now lives in Grafton with her new family which includes another cat with whom she'll be best friends.  Congratulations, Winnie!  Don't forget to send lots of photos!!

"Ragout," her mom Tabasco, sister Hollandaise and friends Bechemel, Ponzu, Marinara and Pesto all became wards of DunRoamin' on August 29, 2019 after having been abandoned in a cardboard box outside the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  By the time they were noticed, they had been there way too long, because the box was soaking wet and they were cold, wet, miserable, sick and hungry.  It had rained most of the night and they had no way to get out of their circumstances.  All were sick or injured.  Ragout and Hollandaise were younger than the other four, so were not of the same litter - just products of more unwanted, unspayed and unneutered cats.  PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!   Ragout was born about July 11, 2019 so was only about six weeks old.  She had a very poor body condition, an infected right eye, fleas and upper respiratory infection.

These seven added to our already-excessive numbers:  27 accepted in May, 60 in June, 20 in July and 36 in August - all sick, injured, abandoned and/or abused who had no one to accept responsibility for them.   PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!

Ragout received the medical care she required, was spayed, fully vaccinated to ensure she is safe from disease, treated for her parasites and tested for FIV AND FeLV.  Her foster mother reported that she is a very huge snuggle bug who loves playing with her canine foster siblings and her sister, Hollandaise.

On November 4, 2019, Ragout was so very excited to leave for her new home in Madawaska, Maine, USA.   And to make her even happier, if at all possible, her sister Hollandaise (see below) got to go too!  Congratulations!  Send lots of photos!  Your foster family will miss you dearly!

"Hollandaise," her mom Tabasco, sister Ragout and friends Bechemel, Ponzu, Marinara and Pesto all became wards of DunRoamin' on August 29, 2019 after having been abandoned in a cardboard box outside the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  By the time they were noticed, they had been there way too long, because the box was soaking wet and they were cold, wet, miserable, sick and hungry.  It had rained most of the night and they had no way to get out of their circumstances.  All were sick or injured.  Ragout and Hollandaise were younger than the other four, so were not of the same litter - just products of more unspayed, unneutered and unwanted cats.  PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!

Hollandaise was born about July 11, 2019 so was only about six weeks old.  She had a very poor body condition, both eyes were infected, she had fleas and bad upper respiratory infection.   On top of that, she had a large and badly-infected wound on her back.  She was prescribed antibiotics and received the medical care she required.

These seven added to our already-excessive numbers:  27 accepted in May, 60 in June, 20 in July and 36 in August - all sick, injured, abandoned and/or abused who had no one to accept responsibility for them.   PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!

Hollandaise received the medical care she required, was spayed, vaccinated, treated for all parasites and tested for FIV AND FeLV.  Her foster mother reports that she is sassy and independent but also loves to be held and snuggled.

On November 4, 2019, Hollandaise was elated to go to her forever home in Madawaska, Maine, USA.  And as an added bonus, her sister, Ragout (see above) got to go with her!  They get to stay together!  Congratulations!  Thanks to your new mother for giving you both such a wonderful gift.  Write soon, and write often!  Your foster family will miss you!

"Dove" and her brother "Brando" came to DunRoamin' on June 10, 2019 from Oakland where they had been part of a colony of cats who had no one to care for them.  All cats had been exposed to fleas, ear mites and upper respiratory infection. Dove required antibiotics to combat the upper respiratory infection which had settled in her eyes and nose, but with the great medical care she received from the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic, she was soon  fine.  Dove also had moderate chin acne and a polyp in her ear which required surgery to remove.  She may need some eye lubricant in the future but her family is more than willing to ensure she gets all the care she needs.  Dove is spayed, fully vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and hopes to go to a loving home very soon.  She'd love it if Brando could go with her - she loves Brando and they cuddle, head butt and stay together constantly.  Brando required antibiotics to combat his upper respiratory infection, but he's now perfectly fine, neutered, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and ready to go to a home.  He's looking forward to it!  Brando was the 28th cat rescued by DunRoamin' in the first ten days of June, 2019.

On November 2, 2019, Dove and Brando were adopted together by a couple in Saint John where they will enjoy the most wonderful life of which they could possibly dream.  They will join Liam and Slater, both DunRoamin' cats who have had the honour of being part of this family for several years.  Thank you for giving two more DunRoamin' cats such a wonderful home.

"Pesto," Tabasco, Bechamel, Ragout, Ponzu, Marinara and Hollandaise all became wards of DunRoamin' on August 29, 2019 after having been abandoned in a cardboard box outside the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.

Pesto was born about June 20, 2019 so was only about 10 weeks old.  She had severe fleas and ear mites.

These seven added to our already-excessive numbers:  27 accepted in May, 60 in June, 20 in July and 36 in August - all sick, injured, abandoned and/or abused who had no one to accept responsibility for them.  Donations to help care for them are appreciated.  PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!

Pesto received the medical care she required, was spayed, vaccinated, treated for her parasites and tested for FIV AND FeLV.  She loved her time with her foster parents and thanks them each day for her good fortune to have been in their lives.

On October 26, 2019, Pesto and her brother Ponzu (see below) were adopted together to a wonderful home in Fredericton!  Congratulations, Pesto, to you, your brother and your new family.  Send us photos!!

"Ponzu," Tabasco, Bechamel, Ragout, Hollandaise, Marinara and Pesto all became wards of DunRoamin' on August 29, 2019 after having been abandoned in a cardboard box outside the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.

Ponzu was born about June 20, 2019 so was only about 10 weeks old.  He had a poor body condition, fleas and ear mites - not pleasant at all for such a beautiful long-haired gorgeous boy.

Ponzu received the medical care he required, was neutered, vaccinated, treated for his parasites and tested for FIV AND FeLV.  He loved his time with his foster parents and will miss them greatly.  He is very grateful for their love and generosity.

"Lincoln" came to us on June 6, 2019 from the Oakland area where he had been found to be in poor physical condition and obviously required help.  Lincoln was born about March 28, 2019 and was one of 26 cats who arrived at our door on this day, 16 of whom came from the Oakland area.   We thank the person who discovered this colony all alone and brought them for help.

Lincoln had upper respiratory infection and required pain medication, antibiotics and eye medication.  His right eye had some damage that was repaired once it healed a bit.  They could not have been in better hands than those of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.   With lots of professional care, medication and good food, Lincoln came a very long way in only a few weeks.  He was soon no longer on medication and was eager to move to a new home where he could join a family that will love and care for him forever.  He's willing to do the same in return!!  He and three of his siblings were fostered by a very nice lady in Meductic where they had the best time ever!  On October 6, 2019, Lincoln joined his friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton.  It's a wonderful place!  Please drop in, have a great cup of coffee and spend some time with some wonderful felines!!   Tell 'em DunRoamin' sent you!

On October 26, 2019, Lincoln was adopted by a young couple in Saint John.  He will be spoiled rotten!  And he can't wait!  Congratulations, Lincoln, send us lots of photos, please.  Your foster mother will miss you, and so will Craig at The Purrfect Cup!!

"Foley"and his brother Adler (see below) came to us on the afternoon of July 6, 2019 from Carlow, NB where he had been found on a deck.  As no one was able to care for him, he came to us.   He's definitely known people, because he loves them and is very comfortable in a home environment.   Foley was born about June 4, 2019.  He and his brother Adler dreamed of having a home together - they've never been separated in their entire lives!

Both kittens are cute, happy, playful, affectionate little guys who deserve a loving family. They hope to have that soon.  They went to stay with their friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, NB, where . . .

. . . on October 26, 2019, they were adopted together to a wonderful home in Pocanogan!  Congratulations!  Have a great time on your new cat tree and with all your new toys!  We know you'll be spoiled rotten!  Send lots of photos!

"Adler" and his brother Foley (see above) came to us on the morning of July 6, 2019 from Carlow, NB where he was found on a deck the previous day.  As no one was available to help him, he came to us.  He is relatively healthy, but will be vaccinated, neutered, tested for FIV, tested for FeLV and treated for all parasites.  He was born about June 4, 2019.  He and his brother Foley are very attached to each other and we would love to have them go to a home together - they've never been apart.

Both kittens are cute, happy, playful, affectionate little guys who deserve a loving family. They hope to have that soon.  They are neutered, tested for FIV and FeLV, fully vaccinated and treated for all parasites, as are all DunRoamin' cats.  They can't wait for a new home!

On October 26, 2019, Adler's dream came true when he and his brother Foley were adopted to a home in Pocanogan!  They will be spoiled, have the best toys, and the best life ever!  Congratulations!  thanks to your new family for keeping you together!  Write soon - we can't wait to see you in your new home!

"Marinara," his mom Tabasco and siblings Ponzu, Bechamel, Ragout, Hollandaise and Pesto all became wards of DunRoamin' on August 29, 2019 after having been abandoned in a cardboard box outside the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.

Marinara was born about June 20, 2019 so was only about 10 weeks old.  He had severe fleas - not pleasant at all for such a beautiful little boy.  Not pleasant for anyone!

These seven added to our already-excessive numbers:  27 accepted in May, 60 in June, 20 in July and 38 in August - all sick, injured, abandoned and/or abused who had no one to accept responsibility for them.   PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS!

Marinara received all the medical care he required, was neutered, vaccinated, treated for his parasites and tested for FIV AND FeLV.  He was very fortunate to move to a foster home where he was loved and kept warm and safe  until . . .

. . . October 22, 2019, when he was adopted by a young family in Fredericton where he will live happily ever after as another very spoiled member of the household.  Congratulations, Marinara.  Don't forget to send lost of photos so we can watch you grown up.  Your foster family will miss you!

"Polaris" came to us on February 16, 2019 from Arthurette where he was unable to get medical care.  He had been injured approximately two or more months previously (perhaps run over by a snowmobile) and had developed infection as a result.  He was very fortunate to have Dr Rennick waiting for him when he came through the doors of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and we thank him for staying late to help Polaris.

Polaris was not yet neutered, had ear mites and an ear infection.   Infection had also spread through a very large part of the hind end of his body over a long period of time and he required much medical intervention.  He was prescribed pain medication, antibiotics and laser therapy to help with his injuries.  He also required fluids as he was dehydrated.  Polaris was only about two years of age (born about February 16, 2017) - way too young to have to experience such a terrible ordeal.

Thanks to his new vet friend and servants, Polaris has healed very well.  His hair has grown back and, although his ears still need just a bit of routine cleaning, he has made great progress.  He is grateful to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and all the friends of DunRoamin' who have made his recovery possible.  He  hopes for a permanent home in the very near future.

On October 19, 2019, Polaris was adopted by a lady in Woodstock who has loved him from afar and been so anxious to take him home and love him. Congratulations, Polaris!  You have it made now!  Send lots of photos and tell us all about your new life, love and family!

"Clarke" came to us on June 6, 2019 from the Oakland area where she had been found to be in poor physical condition and obviously required help.  Clarke was born about March 28, 2019 and was one of 26 cats who arrived at DunRoamin' on this date, sixteen of whom came from Oakland.  We thank the person who discovered this colony and brought them for help.

Clarke had upper respiratory infection and her eyes were gummed shut.  She required antibiotics, subcutaneous fluids and eye medications.  She is a very tiny little girl and quick work by vet staff ensured she got the help she required.  As of June 30, 2019, she still had a bit of a scar on her eyes and was still on medication, but she's great now!.  She is very fortunate to be able to keep both eyes, especially after what she and her siblings and friends went through.  Nathan and Thelonius lost an eye each (see below) and Otto lost both eyes (see below).  We are grateful to the Florenceville Vet Clinic for their care.

Clarke is a very cuddly and playful little girl who would love to have a home with one of her kitten friends.  She's anxious to join a family and start a real life.  On September 13, 2019, she went to stay with her new friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton where she will have a blast while being spoiled by their staff and guests!  She hopes to meet her new family there.  Have fun, Clarke!!

On October 19, 2019, Clarke met her new family!  She will live with this family and their cat who is anxious for another feline friend, and Clarke will definitely fill the bill!  Congratulations to all!  Thanks for giving this beautiful little girl a wonderful home and family.  Please send lots of photos!!

"Nathan" and his brother "Thelonius" came to us on June 6, 2019 from the Oakland area where they had been found to be in poor physical condition and obviously required help.  Thelonius and Nathan were brothers who were born about March 28, 2019.  They were two of 26 cats who arrived on our doorstep on this day.  Sixteen were from the Oakland area and all required immediate medical care.  We thank the person who discovered this colony all alone and brought them for help.

Thelonius and Nathan were diagnosed with upper respiratory infection which had caused damage to their eyes.  They required antibiotics and pain meds as well as medication for their eyes.  They each also required one eye to be removed but are doing just fine.  He is happy, playful, loving, affectionate, loves to purr and wrestle with his siblings - he's PURRFECT!

As of July 1, 2019, they were fostered with a wonderful DunRoamin' supporter who has also adopted several DunRoamin' cats, and they even have their own dog!  They are grateful for the love, care and all the other things they have in such abundance.  They can't wait to get a permanent home!  Nathan and Thelonius must be adopted together - they need each other!   On October 6, 2019, both went to stay with their friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, where they had a blast!  Please check out this cafe - it's fantastic!  And you can meet so many beautiful cats at the same time!

On October 19, 2019, both Thelonius and Nathan were ecstatic to learn that they were both adopted to a couple in New Maryland where they will be spoiled ROTTEN!  We are so grateful that they got to stay together!   Thanks to your new parents for everything - we are very grateful.  Don't forget to send lots of photos!

"Hairy Pawter," his brother "Flitwicka" and eight others came to us from the Hartland area on May 26, 2019.  They were born about April 26, 2019 and both are very sweet, affectionate and cuddly little boys.   Hairy weighed only 10 ounces upon his arrival.

Both had upper respiratory infection, a slight nasal discharge, moderate conjunctivitis and discharge from their eyes and both had been exposed to fleas and ear mites.  All these things have been remedied thanks to his caregivers at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.

Hairy Pawter loves to play with his brother Flitwicka - they're inseparable - and we're hoping they can be adopted together so that they'll always have a friend with whom to play, sleep and cuddle.  Hairy Pawter and his family would like to thank Dr Monteith for helping retrieve, examine and treat them on her day off - we all appreciate it.  On October 6, 2019, both Hairy Pawter and Flitwicka went to spend some time with their friends at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, where they loved each and every day.  This cat cafe is amazing - please drop in and check it out for yourself!  Tell them Hairy Pawter and Flitwicka sent you!!

On October 19, 2019, Hairy Potter and his brother Flitwicka were adopted together to a very nice young lady from Fredericton where they are already spoiled more than they have ever been!  They love her already and we are so grateful for such a wonderful home and that they get to stay together.  Thank you SO much!

"Bobby" (a very handsome orange tabby) and his sisters "Hasta" and Vista (adopted) came to us on July 19, 2019 from the Plaster Rock area where they were found at the end of a driveway.  They had been duct-taped into a cardboard box for someone to find, hopefully in time to save them, but although they were located, no one was able to help care for them.

They were accepted by DunRoamin' and placed under the care of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where they were treated for upper respiratory infection.   They were fostered by a veterinarian where they ruled the home!  They are gorgeous!  Thanks, Dr Haines!

Bobby and his sister Hasta are very bonded and it was our wish (and theirs!) that they go to a home together.  They love each other and have never been separated.  As of October 6, 2019, they stayed with our friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton - please drop in and check out this cafe - it's amazing, and you'll love their food, drink and atmosphere!

On October 19, 2019, we are so very pleased to announce that Bobby and Hasta were adopted into a very loving home in Fredericton where they will be spoiled beyond their wildest dreams.  We are SO happy for you!   Thanks to your new mom for keeping you together!  Send lots of photos - your foster mother will be looking forward to seeing what a wonderful life you will have!  Congratulations to all!

"Kuwertz" came to DunRoamin' on July 17, 2019 from Temple.  He was extremely dehydrated and in much pain.  Kuwertz had blocked, meaning that crystals which had formed in his urine now blocked his ureter and urine could not leave his body.  He was not feeling good at all and he needed help NOW.  As no one else could help him, he came to us.  He was born about January 17, 2013 and was named in honour of some fast friends of DunRoamin'.

Kuwertz had renal damage and a urinary tract infection.  He received IV fluids, had a catheter inserted and was prescribed pain medication.  He will eat canned Urinary S/O food to help him along.  Kuwertz initially tested positive for Feline Leukemia, so he was segregated for three months and retested, which confirmed his FeLV-positive status.

On October 17, 2019, Kuwertz was happily accepted by our very good friends in Plaster Rock where he will join three other FeLV-positive DunRoamin' cats Beadle, Perry and Miata, as well as their canine DunRoamin' foster brother Ashton and several other wonderful dog friends.  Kuwertz must eat only RC Urinary S/O food, so will have separate eating quarters, but will have plenty of friends and family.   Congratulations, Kuwertz!  Thanks once again to your wonderful family!

To learn more about the Feline Leukemia Virus,
please click on this link or consult your veterinarian.

"Abba" came to us on June 6, 2019 from the Oakland area where she was one of sixteen cats who had been found in need of help.  Abba was born about June 6, 2017.  All cats required immediate medical care.  We thank the person who discovered this colony all alone and brought them for help.  They'll be okay now.

Abba was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection which is very contagious between cats.  She was otherwise healthy, but had never been spayed.  She most likely was the mom to some of the kittens who also came to DunRoamin' on this day.

Abba was spayed, vaccinated, tested for FIV/FeLV, treated for all parasites and was well cared for while she awaited a home where she'll be safe, loved and cared for.  She lived with several other cats with whom she got along famously.

On October 6, 2019, Abba was adopted by a family in Bath where she'll be well loved and cared for.  Congratulations, Abba.  We're very happy for you.  Send lots of photos!

"Beaumont" came to DunRoamin' on May 6, 2019 from Newburg where he had come to a home where it was noticed that he had sustained several large and open wounds on the left side of his neck.  Beaumont was also very thin.  He was born about November 1, 2017.

Beaumont was examined at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where his wounds were assessed and treated.  He soon began his vaccine protocol as his wounds began to heal.  He remained with veterinary care until he was well enough to be cared for by his DunRoamin' staff.  Beaumont is very friendly and obviously grateful for the love, care and food he is now receiving.  He's a very nice boy - please come meet him!

As of May 22, 2019, he's doing very well!  He's moved in with us and has shown himself to be a very happy little boy!  He's ready for a new home - he can't wait!!  And he hopes he can take some of his toys with him - he loves toys!

On October 15, 2019, Beaumont was so very happy to learn that he had been chosen by a very nice lady from Rosedale where he will live the most wonderful life of which he could ever dream.  He will want for nothing, and be spoiled beyond his wildest dreams!  And he'll give back all the love he has - he's a master at it!  Congratulations, Beaumont!   Congratulations to your family!  Send lots of photos!

"Jubilee" came to us from Oakland on June 10, 2019 along with nine more cats, as well as 16 others who had arrived on June 6, 2019, for a total of 26 from that location where they had been living in and around a home but had little care.  All had experienced exposure to fleas and ear mites and many had such bad upper respiratory infections that they required intensive medical care.

Jubilee was born about June 10, 2018 and had an old injury, perhaps as the result of an ulcer, on her left eye.  She appears to have no troubles related to it.  Jubilee also had moderate gingivitis and ear mites.  She was also slightly underweight, but we fixed that very quickly with lots of good and nutritious food.

Jubilee is the 32nd stray accepted by DunRoamin' in the first 10 days of June, 2019.

On October 15, 2019, Jubilee was adopted by a gentleman in Newbridge where she'll have the life, family, love and safety that she deserves forever.  Congratulations, Jubilee.  Please don't forget to send family photos - we'll miss you.

"Idris" came to us on the late afternoon of Friday, August 2, 2019, along with his mom Stella and two sisters, Elba and Scooch.  They had been left in an empty apartment near Nackawic for at least three days without food or water.  No one would take these little ones in.  If we said no, they would most probably not survive very long because they would be abandoned to survive on their own and they're just babies.   Idris was born about April 1, 2019.

Idris is a beautiful little boy who loves to play and cuddle.  Since his siblings Elba and Scooch were adopted, he and Legend are even more bonded.  He's hoping that, if someone offers him a home, that she can go with him as well.  Both love people, dogs and other cats.

Stella, Idris, Elba and Scooch were completely healthy with no medical concerns at all except that they had fleas which were immediately treated.  Idris is the 184th stray we have taken in this year, 48 more than we had accepted in 2017 and 35 more than we had taken in by this time last year.

Idris developed some problems with his stool, but he's doing just fine now.  He is anxious to meet his permanent family - he can't wait!

On October 12, 2019, Idris's wait ended when a gentleman arrived from Fredericton to take him home . . . and . . . his best friend Legend (see below) got to go, too!!  This is the best day ever!  Congratulations, Idris!  You get to live with a young lady and Bolt, another DunRoamin' dog!  That's fantastic!  Please send lots of pictures soon!!

Idris & Legend                  Bolt

Legend and her foster sister Ruby

"Legend" came to us on June 11, 2019 when she was rescued, along with her sisters Higgins and Oslo and brother Anakin, by the NBSPCA.   Legend was born about May 17, 2019, so was not even a month old.  She had no mother to care for her.  Sadly, Oslo and Anakin were unable to survive despite all medical assistance..

Legend was diagnosed with upper respiratory infection.  Both eyes were infected, she was dehydrated, underweight and her tongue was ulcerated, perhaps explaining her lack of weight - it must be terribly painful to try to eat with that much damage from an ulcer in the back of your throat!!

Legend was very fortunate to be accepted by Trinity, a cat who had come to us on June 10, 2019.  She had previously had kittens and was happy to bathe and feed Legend.

Legend was prescribed medication which made a fantastic difference on her ulcers and her respiratory infection.  We thank the vet tech who fostered her and her new foster mother and father.  She's come such a very long way from the day of her arrival.  Now, she just needs a home!!

As you can tell in the photo of her and her foster sister, Ruby, she LOVES dogs!  They're soft, warm and cuddly!  Maybe she'll find a home with her very own!  Since her other foster kitty friends were adopted, she and Idris (see above) are more bonded than ever.  She hopes that she might find a home where he is welcomed too!

On October 12, 2019, a very nice gentleman arrived to take both Legend and her best friend Idris (see above) to live with him, his 13-year old daughter and Bolt, a richly-spoiled former DunRoamin' dog.  Congratulations to everyone!  Thanks for including these beautiful kittens in your family and allowing them to stay together.  It means the world to them and to us!!

"Salem" came to DunRoamin' on August 20, 2019 from Lower Kintore where his owner no longer wanted him.  Salem had severe ear mites, severe infected soft tissue puncture wounds on both front legs, his legs were badly swollen and some tissue was already dead.  Salem was born about August 20, 2017.  He had been an indoor/outdoor cat who always came home with wounds and injuries each time he was allowed outside.  He was not neutered.  His leg injuries suggest that he may have been caught in a snare several days ago.  He was very fortunate to receive medical help from his new friends at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.

Salem was examined and treated and prescribed medication to help heal his injuries.  Salem will now be an indoor cat only, will be neutered and live his life safe from traps and predators.  He's hoping for a loving family soon so he can settle in before winter, where he'll enjoy the warmth, comfort and love for those upcoming cold months.  Salem is a very nice boy who loves people and is eager to have a permanent family.  He is extremely affectionate and loves EVERYONE!  If you want a talkative little cuddle cat, he's your boy!

On October 12, 2019, a good friend of DunRoamin' arrived to choose a new feline friend to join her home and family.  Salem was so happy to be chosen!  He now lives in Elmwood with several other cats and dogs - more DunRoamin' friends.  Congratulations, Salem!  Write soon!

"Isadora" came to us on July 2, 2019 from Greenfield where she was found all alone.  She didn't seem to feel very well.  She was born about May 14, 2019 and she was VERY cute!  She was not feeling all that great and had to be fed with a syringe by her human servants at first, but she was soon doing SO much better with lots of medical care and affection.

Isadora was fostered by a very kind couple who loved her immensely.  She can't wait to have a permanent loving home of her very own - she's never had that before, and doesn't everyone deserve that?

On October 6, 2019, while at an event at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, she met a young man and woman who immediately fell in love with her and we could tell it was mutual by the adoring gaze that never left her face as she looked at them. Isadora will now live with them and their other cat who will be her feline family along with the two humans who will be her loving caregivers.  A match made in heaven, Isadora.  Congratulations.   Your foster mom and dad miss you greatly.  Please send lots of photos very soon.

"Guido" came to us late in the evening of August 13, 2019.  He had come out of the bushes and followed some people who were walking for quite some distance.  He was very vocal and told them he needed help, but as they had two non-cat-loving dogs in the house, they could not keep him as he would not be safe, not even overnight.

Guido did very well in his foster home where he ran and played with several other cats and two dogs every day.  He is healthy, neutered and fully vaccinated and he is ready for a new family now!  His is fostered with a very caring vet tech and her family of cats and dogs, and he loves everyone!

On October 6, 2019, Guido met a family on his very first day at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, while at their Anniversary Adoption Event.  He and his family both knew it was love at first sight, and he'll spend the rest of his life being spoiled and loved.  Congratulations, Guido, and congratulations to your family - you're both very lucky!  Send lots of photos - your foster mother misses you already!!

"Asterisk" came to us from Oakland on June 10, 2019 along with nine more cats, as well as 16 others who had arrived on June 6, 2019, for a total of 26 from that location where they had been living in and around a home but had little or no care.  All had experienced exposure to fleas and ear mites and many had such bad upper respiratory infections that they required intensive medical care.

Asterisk was born about June 10, 2016 and is a very nice multi-coloured little girl.  She had mild tartar on her teeth, a clear discharge from her eyes, ear mites and she had been exposed to fleas and upper respiratory infection.  Her medical needs were quickly addressed by her new best vet friend at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and she was soon on her way to being completely healthy.  She dreamed of the day she could have a home where she could be an indoor cat and have servants to wait on her beauty every minute of the day!

Asterisk cared for several young kittens.  We're not sure they were hers, but she was a loving mother to them and they learned kitten manners from her.  She is a beautiful cat who is spayed, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for all parasites.  She looks forward to the day she'll have her very own human family forever.  She is beautiful, loving, affectionate and grateful for all she's been given.

On September 13, 2019, she moved to The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton where she was spoiled by her hosts and their guests, as all Purrfect Cup cats are!  Please drop into The Purrfect Cup - you'll love it there!  They are amazing, and the cats all agree!

On October 6, 2019, The Purrfect Cup hosted an adoption event in honour of their first anniversary in business.  It was at this event that Asterisk found her permanent and loving family.  She now lives in Fredericton where she is spoiled rotten!  Just the way it should be!  Congratulations, Asterisk!  Please stay in touch and send lots of photos of you and your new family!

Anana had upper respiratory infection, as indicated by her infected eyes.  She was prescribed antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids to help her become healthy.  She's overcome that now, thanks to the fact that she got the very best of care from the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic - thank you for ALL you do for these little ones.  Anana is ready to go to a new home now!

"Anya" came to us on June 6, 2019 from the Oakland area where she had been found to be in poor physical condition and obviously required help.  Anya was born about April 18, 2019.  She was one of 26 cats who arrived at our door on this date, 16 of whom came from Oakland.  We thank the person who discovered this colony and brought them for help.

Anya had an upper respiratory infection, was emaciated and required subcutaneous fluids and antibiotics.  She received all the medical care she required from the staff of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and she's now fine.   Medications and professional medical care have definitely saved her eyes.  She is doing very well and is anxious to join a permanent home and can't wait!  On September 13, 2019 she was invited to stay with her friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton where she was spoiled and waited on until the Purrfect family came to take her home.  Please drop into the Purrfect Cup for coffee, a snack and a visit with the felines.  You'll LOVE it there for so many reasons!

"Eyre" came to us on June 6, 2019 from the Oakland area where she had been found to be in poor physical condition and obviously required help.  Eyre was born about June 5, 2019.  Eyre has an upper respiratory infection which can be deadly, especially to little ones should they receive no treatment.  Eyre required antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids, which she immediately received, as well as medication to ensure she becomes healthy.  We thank the person who discovered this colony all alone and brought them for help.

Eyre and her siblings were fostered by a veterinarian to ensure they got the care they required.  We are very grateful to the staff of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  As usual, they are a major reason that these cats will survive, receive all medical care they require and may be placed in loving homes.   She's happy, healthy, playful and is anxious to be ready to go to a new home as soon as she's ready, hopefully in mid-August.  Eyre spent some time with a very lovely lady in Upper Brighton where she had a blast!   Thanks, Kate!

Eyre went to stay with her friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, on October 6, 2019, and . . .

On October 6, 2019, Eyre met a young lady from Fredericton who fell absolutely in love with her, and vice versa.  Eyre now lives in Fredericton where she'll live the life she has always dreamed of and deserved.  We look forward to seeing many photos of you as you grow, Eyre!  Congratulations!

"Ada" came to us on June 6, 2019 from the Oakland area where she had been found to be in poor physical condition and obviously required help.  Ada was born about April 18, 2019.  She was one of 26 cats accepted by DunRoamin' on this date, 16 of whom came from Oakland.  She required medical attention in the form of antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids, as well eye medication as her eyes were gummed shut with infection.  We thank the person who discovered this colony all alone and brought them for help.

Ada is a beautiful little girl.  Due to the care she received from the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic she's now perfectly fine, but we're sad that she had to experience this.   She has a slight head tilt that is permanent, but that just makes her more unique.  She's PURRFECT, and since September 13, 2019, she's staying with her friends in Fredericton!  Come meet her at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe - this cafe is the cat's meow!!  You'll love it there!  Tell 'em DunRoamin' sent you!

On October 6, 2019, The Purrfect Cup hosted an adoption event in honour of their first anniversary in business.  It was at this event that Ada found her permanent and loving family.  She will now live in Fredericton with her new family which includes another beautiful cat!   Congratulations, Ada!  Your DunRoamin' and Purrfect Cup friends will miss you, but are SO happy for you!  Don't forget to write often and send lots of photos!

"Vista," her sister Hasta and brother Bobby came to us on July 19, 2019 from Plaster Rock.  They had been duct-taped into a box and left at the end of a driveway for someone to find and care for, but no one was available to help.   Vista is very cute and looks much like her sister Hasta, except that, at least for right now, she has a stripe of darker fur right up her spine!

They were placed under the care of the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where they were treated for upper respiratory infection.   They were then fostered by a veterinarian where they received the medical care they required and also quickly ruled the home!  Vista was a little more timid than her brother and sister, but was absolutely in love with her foster mother.

On October 5, 2019, Vista won the jackpot when she learned that she was invited to join her foster family on a permanent basis.  She is now so very happy - she gets to sleep under the blankets with her mom every single night forever and she loves her new foster siblings!  Yahoo!  You've got it made, Vista!  Congratulations!

"Keiko" came to us on July 22, 2019 from the Knowlesville area where she and her four siblings (Beckham, Santana, Josh and Tugg) were living in a woodpile with their mother who had not been around for five days.  It was feared that she might not be capable of returning, so these little ones needed help.  They were born about May 22, 2019.

All kittens were dehydrated and had poor body condition.  They had conjunctivitis and infected eyes.  They also had diarrhea.  All were hungry and dived into their food!  They are now doing very well and play, sleep, cuddle and love to be together, so we hope that they can go in pairs or to a home that already has another cat.

On September 23, 2019, Keiko got a wonderful surprise when she was adopted along with her brother Tugg (see below) to join a fantastic family in Gordonsville.  They'll be new friends for Andover, another DunRoamin' kitty who is spoiled rotten!  Have a great life, Keiko!  Congratulations to all!  Hi, Andover!

On September 23, 2019, Tugg got the best present of his life when he was adopted to a home in Gordonsville.  And guess what?  His sister Keiko (see above) got to go along!  And guess what else? They are going to live with Andover, another DunRoamin' cat who is spoiled beyond his wildest dreams at their home!  Congratulations!  Please tell your new mom and dad how grateful we are to them.  You're going to be loved beyond your wildest dreams!! Hi, Andover!

On September 23, 2018, Beckham and her sister Santana (see above) were adopted together to a home in Woodstock where they'll be double the pleasure for their new mom and always have each other as well.  Congratulations to the whole family!  Don't forget to stay in touch.  We'd love to see how much more beautiful you become as you grow.

"Josh" came to us on July 22, 2019 from the Knowlesville area where she and her four siblings (Beckham, Santana, Keiko and Tugg) were living in a woodpile with their mother who had not been around for five days.  It was feared that she might not be capable of returning to them, so these little ones needed help.  They were born about May 22, 2019.

On September 21, 2019, Josh was very happy to join her new family in Fredericton where she will be loved beyond her wildest dreams. Congratulations, Josh.  Please remember to send photos.

"Camilla" came to us on August 16, 2019 from Bath, NB.  She was lethargic, unable to hold her head up and hypothermic.  Born about May 16, 2019, she was just barely three months old and needed help.  Her family was unable to provide care for her.

Camilla was treated at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  Part of her problem was a kidney infection which was treated.  She was soon enjoying life in a foster home with her friend Knotch (see below) while she waited for her vaccines to be up to date.  She enjoys playing with other cats, kittens and Rusty, a big cat-loving dog.  She is spayed, vaccinated, treated for all parasites and tested for FIV and FeLV and will is anxious to go to a permanent home where she'll be safe and loved forever.  She can't wait!

On September 21, 2019, Camilla was so very happy to join a very loving family in Grand Bay.  And to add to the joy, her best friend, Knotch (see below), was invited to join the family also.  We are so happy for you both.  Congratulations!!

"Knotch" came to DunRoamin' in the early hours of August 4, 2019.  She had been found in the middle of the road near Nackawic late the previous evening and a young man had almost struck her with his vehicle.  When he went back to check on her, she hadn't moved so he knew she needed help.

Knotch was cared for by a concerned and compassionate vet tech until a veterinarian became available.  She is missing a notch out of her left ear and had serious injury to her hind legs.  Her wound contained dozens of maggots which were soon removed.  It was initially a possibility that she may have had other injuries as well due to head trauma, but as of August 22, 2019, we are happy to report that Knotch is doing very well.  Her injuries are healed and we're so glad that she's progressed so well.  She's looking forward to joining a loving family where she will be cared for forever.  Knotch was born about June 23, 2019.  She has been fostered by a wonderful lady in Bath, along with her friend Camilla.

On September 21, 2019, Knotch was adopted by a wonderful family in Grand Bay.  And guess what??  Camilla (see above) was also invited to join the family!  That is WONDERFUL!  Thank you so much for keeping them together so they'll each always have a feline friend to enjoy.  Congratulations to all!!

"Sally Ann" came to us on February 11, 2019 from Oakland where she was being fed by a woman who could no longer look after her.  She was not in good shape.  Her sister, Salvation, came with her.

Sally Ann had ulcers in her mouth and throat, she had severe upper respiratory infection and was dehydrated.  She required antibiotics, pain medication and supportive care.  She also needed to have a feeding tube inserted in order for her to get food into her system - it was much too painful for her to eat.  Sally also has luxating patellas in both hind legs (her knee caps move) due to the fact that she does not have sufficient muscle mass.  On top of this, Sally Ann had a temperature of only 35.1*C - much lower than it should be.  That's a lot to deal with.  She was born about February 11, 2017 and only weighed four pounds and five ounces at two years of age.

Sally Ann received the veterinary care she required and deserved from her friends at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic in Riverbank.  She was cared for by loving veterinary staff and as of February 22, 2019, she had gained a pound of weight, thanks to her feeding tube.  Her mouth ulcers have since healed and she is starting to get that light in her eyes.  On March 8, 2019, her feeding tube was removed!  As of March 23, 2019, she's doing so  much better - she's purrfect!  She can't wait for a family of her own!

On September 21, 2019, Sally Ann was SO excited to learn that she had been invited to join a family in Florenceville where she'll live happily ever after.  We are SO happy for you, Sally Ann.  Congratulations!

"Kato" came to DunRoamin' on May 10, 2018, from Perth-Andover where he was found all alone under a car in a parking lot.  He was in desperately bad shape.   He had eye infections so badly that his eyes were sealed shut with infection.  He was hypothermic (very low body temperature), extremely dehydrated and was barely conscious on arrival at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  He would not have survived much longer on his own - as a matter of fact, it was hard for his new vet friend to find a heartbeat on arrival.  Fortunately, Dr Rennick stuck with it, and Kato is here today because of his help.  Kato was born about May 10, 2013.

Kato was treated for all his concerns and two weeks later he was doing so very much better.  He was already neutered upon his arrival, so he had belonged to someone at some time.   On July 24, 2018, Kato was adopted to a family in Florenceville, but the pace and excitement of a busy home with several young children appeared to be too much for him.  He returned to us on August 6, 2018 where he settled back into the quiet life and is doing well.  He spent some time under vet care to help with a bit of diarrhea but now that he's on a Royal Canin Hypo-Allergenic diet, he's purrfectly fine!  He'd like a home where he can enjoy the peace and quiet of a smaller or older family.  He's very loving and affectionate and is hoping for the opportunity to join a family again very soon.

On September 21, Kato was welcomed into a wonderful home in Woodstock where he'll live happily ever after.  Congratulations, Kato - write often!  We'll miss your handsome face!

"Higgins" came to us on June 11, 2019 when she was rescued, along with her sisters Oslo and Legend and brother Anakin, by the NBSPCA.   Legend was born about May 17, 2019, so was not even a month old.  She had no mother to care for her.

Higgins was very fortunate to be accepted by Trinity (see above), a cat who had come to us on June 10, 2019.  She had previously had kittens and was happy to bathe and feed Legend and her three siblings.

Higgins had a very bad case of upper respiratory infection, she was dehydrated and her eyes were glued shut with the discharge from her eyes.  She was very fortunate to be fostered by a vet tech who providesd 24-hour care for her until she was out of the woods.

Higgins was then fostered by a very generous DunRoamin' Board Member along with her mom, Blanca.  She is now fostered by another wonderful supporter while she awaits her permanent home.  She is happy, healthy, friendly, affectionate, lovable - everything a kitten would ever want to be!  Please come meet her - she can't wait for a family of her very own!!

On September 17, 2019, Higgins was adopted by a very nice lady from Three Brooks, NB where she'll be spoiled rotten - just what she deserves!  Congratulations to you and your momma, Blanca (see below) - you get to stay together!!

"Blanca" came to us on June 19, 2019, through the NB SPCA.  She had been living in a home with multiple cats who were not able to be cared for.  Blanca had obviously had kittens recently and was producing milk.  Blanca was born about October 19, 2018, so was just a baby herself.

Blanca was reunited with her babies, Anakin, Higgins and Oslo who immediately welcomed her love and attention.  They had been cared for by a vet tech who had been feeding them every four hours around the clock and stimulating them to pee and poop while they awaited the return of their mother, whom they were very happy to see.  And she was certainly ecstatic to be reunited with them!

Blanca was fostered by a Board Member along with her daughter, Higgins.  Both are now fostered by another kind supporter and they both anxiously await a loving home.  Blanca is just learning to be a kitten since she had kittens while she was still one herself.  She is loving, affectionate, playful and just plain ol' wonderful!

On September 17, 2019, Blanca was chosen by a very nice lady from Three Brooks to join her family, and her daughter, Higgins (see above) got to go too!  Congratulations!  We are so happy you get to stay together!  Send us lots of photos so we can see you grow up!

"Scooch" came to us on the late afternoon of Friday, August 2, 2019.  She, along with her mom, Stella and sister Elba and brother Idris had been left in an empty apartment near Nackawic for at least three days without food or water.  No one would take these little ones in.  If we said no, they would most probably not survive because they would be abandoned to survive on their own, and they're just babies.   Scooch was born about April 1, 2019.

Scooch and her family were completely healthy with no medical concerns at all except that they had fleas which were immediately treated.  Scooch is the 186th stray we have accepted this year, 49 more than we had accepted by this date in 2017 and 36 more than we had taken in by this time in 2018.

On September 14, 2019, Scooch met a very nice family from Jacksonville who invited her to share their home with them. And so she wouldn't be lonely when they were not at home, her sister Elba (see below) was invited to join the family as well.  Congratulations to all!  Your foster mother will miss you - don't forget to send photos!!

"Elba" came to us on the late afternoon of Friday, August 2, 2019.  She, along with her mom, Stella and brother Idris and sister Scooch had been left in an empty apartment near Nackawic for at least three days without food or water.  No one would take these little ones in.  If we said no, they would most probably not survive because they would be abandoned to survive on their own, and they're just babies.  Elba was born about April 1, 2019.

Elba and her family were completely healthy with no medical concerns at all except that they had fleas which were immediately treated.  Elba is the 185th stray we have taken in this year, 48 more than we had accepted in 2017 and 35 more than we had taken in by this time last year.

On September 14, 2019, Elba introduced herself to a very nice family from Jacksonville who knew they had to have her as part of their family.  And to make it an even happier event, her sister Scooch (see above) got to go along!  Congratulations!!  Send lots of photos, Elba!  Your foster family will miss you!

"Caissie" came to us on July 18, 2019 from Arthurette.  She was emaciated and had had a large area of skin and hair removed from her forehead and nose area, perhaps as the result of road rash.

Caissie ploughed into all nourishment provided to her.  She was obviously very hungry but could eat only small frequent portions until her body was familiar with regular and consistent amounts of food again.  Caissie appeared to be about a year old, having been born about July 9, 2018.  She soon was getting stronger by leaps and bounds.

Caissie is now fully recovered, spayed, vaccinated and anxious for a new home.  She is a sweetheart who loves eveyone and everything - that's what gratitude does!

On September 14, 2019, she was so happy to be included as the mewest family member of a wonderful couple in Woodstock.  She will be a new friend for their young daughter and Tess, who was adopted in June 2016.  Thanks again for inviting another DunRoamin' kitty into your family! Congratulations, Caissie!   You've got it made in spades!!  Hi, Tess!

               Tess

"Andretti" and his eight friends came to DunRoamin' on June 19, 2019 through the SPCA from the Drummond area.  They needed help and had no other alternative.  Andretti was born about June 19, 2018, so was only about a year old.  We believe Andretti is a sibling to Tolstoy, Kaygan, Apex and Yoshi.

Andretti had earmites, dental disease and had self-inflicted trauma behind his left ear, probably due to scratching from the itchy effects of the many ear mites.  Andretti is a very nice calm, quiet little boy.  He was neutered, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and, of course, treated for those nasty parasites.

Andretti is hoping to be chosen by a family who will care for him for the rest of his life.  He is very affectionate and loving and is willing to give the very best he has to a new family!  On June 28, 2019, Andretti moved in with his friends at The Purrfect Cup in Fredericton.  Please come see him there - you'll love the coffee, food and staff - they're all amazing!!

On September 13, 2019, Andretti was selected by an amazing couple from Fredericton to join their family which also includes . . . GRIMSBY!!! . . . who was adopted on June 29th.  Congratulations, Andretti!  Hi, Grimsby!  We can't wait to see both of you on Instagram!  Be good boys!!

               Grimsby!

"Cincinnati" came to us on July 1, 2019 from Tracey Mills where she arrived, screaming, on a doorstep at almost midnight.  Maybe the fireworks scared her!  Cincinnati was born about July 1, 2018, so was about a year old.  She had ear mites and was thin, but since she had no one to care for her, she became DunRoamin'.

Cincinnati is extremely affectionate, so she's belonged to someone at some point.  She is very loving, playful and interactive!  She has been fully vaccinated, spayed, tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, Feline Leukemia Virus and has been treated for all parasites.  She is anxious to have a home where she can stay inside where she's safe, loved and comfortable.  She's doing exceptionally well with us, but her dream is to have a whole family and house of her own!  On July 26, 2019, Cincinnati went to join her friends at The Purrfect Cup where she hopes to find her permanent family.  Please drop in and visit - you'll love this cat cafe!  Cincinnati would like to thank Korey, Craig and all the staff for their love and care - they're fantastic!

On September 13, 2019, Cincinnati was adopted by a young lady in Fredericton.  They'd been waiting for each other forever and are both ecstatic to finally be together.  Congratulations, everyone!!  Send lots of photos, Cincinnati!

"Blink" came to DunRoamin' on May 21, 2019 from Holmesville where he had been found and thought to be injured.  Blink was scared but was soon softening up quickly once he realized he was safe and that his life had just changed forever.  Blink was born about May 15, 2017.

Blink is a very nice boy who hoped to have a nice home soon where he could stay indoors and be warm, fed and safe forever.  He is initially timid until he gets to know you, but then he'll love you forever.   On June 28, 2019, Blink went to stay with his friends at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, where he hoped to meet his new family.  He's really looking forward to it - he's never really known what that might be like, but he's heard very good things and hopes he might get a chance to experience it personally.  He would appreciate a nice quiet home, and he can't wait to have a loving family.

On September 13, 2019, Blink's wishes came true.  He now lives in Fredericton with a young couple in a quiet and loving home.  We can't wait to hear how wonderful your new world is, Blink, so don't forget to write soon and often.  Your foster mother misses you!  Congratulations on your new family!

"Oggy" came to us on June 25, 2019.  He was severely emaciated, had ulcers on both eyes and he was matted to the point that when he was shaved his fur came off in one large, thick, dirty piece.  He had multiple pelvic fractures, he was anemic and has had some recent liver trauma.  It is most likely he had been struck by a car.  In addition to all these woes, Oggy had entropion, a condition in which the eyelashes curve inward toward the eyeball and scratch it each time he blinks.  This condition has already been rectified by his new vet friend.  He received the best of medical care and ate as if he hadn't eaten in a very long time (which was probably accurate).

On July 17, 2019, Oggy underwent surgery to repair his broken bones.  One of his hind legs required amputation, but he's healthy, strong and doing well.  He's grateful for all the love and care he's received - he doesn't want to think about what would have happened had he not been rescued.  Neither do we.

Oggy is a social eater and he's eating everything we put in front of him!  He loves his caregivers and is very happy to be warm, safe, pain-free and have a full belly and friends to care for him.   He's gonna be fine - he's even purring, so stay tuned!

On September 6, 2019, he was adopted by his caregivers and he'll now live happily ever after.  We are so grateful that you have a home where you'll be forever safe.  Congratulations, Oggy!

"Lyndon" came to us from the Hartland area on May 26, 2019, along with nine others.  He was born about April 8, 2019 and weighed 1 pound 12 ounces.  He had upper respiratory infection, discharge from his eyes and nose had had been exposed to earmites and fleas.

Lyndon is currently being cared for by the professionals at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where he's getting everything he needs, plus lots of loving!  He will be neutered, tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Feline Leukemia, fully vaccinated, treated for all parasites and ready for a permanent home in no time.  He and his family would like to thank Dr Monteith and the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for all the help he and his friends have received.  We're all very grateful.

On July 26, 2019, Lyndon and his siblings Nancy and Theresa May went to stay with their friends at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton where they had a blast with all their new friends and servants.  Please stop in - it's a FANTASTIC place!

On September 13, 2019, Lyndon was SO excited to go to his forever home with his new mom.  He lives in Fredericton now and is grateful for everyone who made this new life possible.  Congratulations, Lyndon!  Send photos!

Rochester" came to us on June 6, 2019 from the Oakland area where he had been found to be in poor physical condition and obviously required help.  Rochester was born about June 5, 2019 and was one of 26 cats accepted by DunRoamin' on this date, 16 of whom came from Oakland.  We thank the person who discovered this colony all alone and brought them for help.

Rochester had an upper respiratory infection and required antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids.  He was fostered by a veterinarian who fed him by syringe every few hours to ensure he had the best possible chance at survival.  We thank the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for their care and compassion in helping these little ones.  As of July 10, 2019, Rochester is doing well.  He has gained weight, is eating on his own and is showing us his wonderful personality!  He hopes to be ready for a new home in August.

On August 31, 2019, Rochester was adopted by a very nice lady from Moncton.  Congratulations, Rochester!  Send us lots of photos!!

"Miata" came to DunRoamin' on May 27, 2019 from Woodstock where she had been found all alone in a car at an autobody shop.  She was only about three days old, born about May 24, 2019.  She was immediately accepted and was cared for by a volunteer vet tech as she needed round-the-clock medical care and observation to survive.

We're sure Miata is grateful to have the care she experienced.  She had to be fed by syringe every couple of hours around the clock and had a heated Snuggle Safe to keep her warm.  She had to be stimulated to pee and poop by her foster mom, just as her real mother would do, until she was old enough to do that on her own.  Thanks to Jayme for taking in this little girl to ensure she had the best chance possible.  Because of that love and care, Miata became a strong, healthy, confident and loving little girl who was eager to join a loving family in the very near future.  Miata tested positive for Feline Leukemia, which you can read about below.

On August 30, 2019, Miata was adopted by our favourite person in Plaster Rock who willingly and lovingly accepts cats who are FeLV positive. She joins Beadle and Perry as new family members, as well as Ross (see below).  We are so grateful.  We're all very fortunate to have you as part of our family.

"Ross" came to us on August 13, 2019 when he was found on the side of the road in Sommerville, NB.   It appeared that he may have been struck by a vehicle, as he had trouble walking.  He was emaciated, dehydrated and also had a purulent discharge from his eyes and it appears his right eye required removal.  He tested positive for FeLV.  He was prescribed pain medications and antibiotics to help him get better.

On August 22, 2019, Ross underwent surgery to have his injured eye removed and to be neutered.  He is doing well and is looking forward to the day when he can move into his new home at DunRoamin' - he thinks he knows someone who would love to have him join his family . . .

. . . and on August 30, 2019, he was proven right!  He now lives in Plaster Rock with his new family which includes three other FeLV-positive cats.   They're perfectly happy and healthy and love their new home and family.  We are very grateful that these beautiful cats have such a wonderful home where they can live happily ever after.  Thanks so much to their new family!

"Marissa" came to us on August 13, 2019 from Hartland where she was a stray who needed help.  A young lady live trapped her to ensure she got the assistance she required.

Marissa was dehydrated and terrified.  She was severely emaciated and required medical care to ensure she received the nourishment she required.

Marissa was timid, but we hoped it was just because she was unsure of us.  If she is able to live in a home, she will be adopted.  If she is feral, we'll find her a nice, warm barn where she can be fed and watched over.   Marissa was soon doing well with lots of fluids, good food and medical care, but it soon became apparent that Marissa was not at all comfortable living with humans, so as soon as she was spayed and perfectly healthy . . .

. . . on August 25, 2019, Marissa was invited by one of our very best supporters to live with some barn cats at her home.  There she will have lots of company and be fed, warm, safe and watched over for the rest of her life.  Thank you so much to the ladies who found her, gave her help and gave her a safe permanent home.  She'll be fine now!

"Nancy" and her sister "Theresa May" came to us from the Hartland area on May 26, 2019, along with nine others.  They were born about April 8, 2019 and weighed not quite a pound and a half each.  They had upper respiratory infection, discharge from their eyes and nose and had been exposed to earmites and fleas.  They are both polydactyl (have double paws).

Nancy and Theresa May were cared for by the professionals at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where they received everything they needed, plus lots of loving!  They have been spayed, tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Feline Leukemia, fully vaccinated, treated for all parasites and were anxious for a permanent home.  They and their family would like to thank Dr Monteith and the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for all the help they have received.  We're all very grateful.

On July 26, 2019, They went to stay with their friends at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton where they had a blast with all their new friends and servants.  Please stop in - it's a FANTASTIC place!

On August 30, 2019, Nancy and Theresa were so very happy to learn that they were chosen by a very loving family to be their newest permanent members.  They now live happily in Fredericton where they enjoy life to the fullest.  Their prayers (and ours) have been answered.  Congratulations!

"Audio," "Video," their mom Tirade and brother Doppler came to us on April 5, 2019 from Summerfield where Tirade had given birth on April 1, 2019, to four baby kittens who were not doing well.  Their new vet and their new vet tech friends went immediately to work to try to save them all, but sadly, Zadan was not able to survive.  You can read about him on our Pet Memorials page.

Tirade had severe upper respiratory infection and she did not have much milk for her babies, so kind and caring vet techs immediately began warming and feeding them by syringe.  They were taken home by a tech so that they could receive continual medical care on a 24-hour basis. Audio and Video, are girls and Doppler is a boy.  They were born about April 1, 2019, so were only about a week old.  Their lives were saved by the medical care and concern they received on this day from the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  We thank Dr Monteith and her staff once again for making their new lives possible, as well as all the people who will donate, provide food, love, fostering and all other things they will require before leaving us to begin their lives in safe, warm, loving homes.

On August 16, 2019, Audio, Video and Doppler went to stay with their friends at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, NB.  Drop in to say hello!  You'll love their coffee and snacks, and the kitties will be happy to meet you!  Doppler is hoping to meet his new family soon, too!

We are so happy to report that on August 30, 2019, Audio and Video were adopted together by a very kind family in Woodstock where they will be loved beyond their dreams!  Congratulations!  Write soon!

"Payne" came to DunRoamin' on June 10, 2019 from Oakland where he had been part of a colony of cats who had no one to care for them.  All cats had been exposed to fleas, ear mites and upper respiratory infection.

Payne was born about November 10, 2018 and had moderate upper respiratory infection in his eyes and nose.  He required antibiotics to combat this infection.  He was thin, but other than the upper respiratory infection, was healthy.  Payne's respiratory infection was investigated and we learned through a scope of his nasal cavity that he will most probably always sound "snorky," or make a noise when he breathes.  He's fine healthy-wise and is hoping that his new family will see that he's no less a beautiful cat because of this.  It's just who he is!

Payne is a very affectionate little cat.  He would like your undivided attention for as long as he can have it, please!  He loves people, other cats and also dogs.  We think he'd prefer to live in a home with at least one other cat to help him burn off some of his energy and enthusiasm!  He's a beautiful boy!  He has been neutered, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for all parasites.  He looks forward to the day he can join a family and be safe and loved forever!

On August 26, 2019, Payne's best wish came true when he was adopted by a very nice lady from Woodstock.  He'll now have his very own dogs to play with and he will be as spoiled as he requests each and every day.  He loves attention and affection and he's looking forward to bushels of it!   Congratulations, Payne!!

"Dash" came to DunRoamin' on April 23, 2019 from Woodstock where he had been given to a young child as a gift.  Unfortunately, the gift was not allowed in the home by the homeowner and Dash had no other alternative to become safe, warm or nourished, so he came to us.

Dash was born about February 1, 2019, so was not yet three months old.  He originally experienced problems eating and gaining weight, but as of May 31, 2019 he was much better and continuing his vaccination protocol.  He was also neutered.

On July 26, 2019, Dash went to stay with his friends at The Purrfect Cup where he hoped to find his true loving family!  He'd like to say a very special thank you to his foster mom and canine and feline foster siblings.  He'd like them to know how much he loves and appreciates them for everything they've given him.  He'll miss them all.  Dash would also like to say thank you to Craig and all his friends at The Purrfect Cup who made him feel so welcome, loved and cared for.  Please drop in and meet them.  Tell 'em DunRoamin' sent you!  You'll love the place!

On August 16, 2019, Dash made the big move to a very loving home where he'll be the new best friend of two young men who already love him as much as possible.  He's a very lucky little kitten and we look forward to seeing photos of him as he grows.  Congratulations, Dash!!

"Purrple" came to us on June 15, 2019 from a home in Johnville where she had been found all alone in a yard.  She was born about April 17, 2019, so wasn't even eight weeks old yet.  She was underweight, was moderately dehydrated, had marked conjunctivitis, was starving, itchy and much too young to be away from her mother.  Her rescuer was unable to undertake her care so she became the 42nd stray to be accepted by DunRoamin' in the first two weeks of June, 2019.  All 42 required substantial medical assistance.

Purrple was under the direct care of Dr Monteith at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic so we know she'll be fine.  There was initially concern that she might lose her left eye due to the severity of the damage caused by upper respiratory infection, but with the very best of professional medical care, she was able to keep it!   Yay!!  She's a very lucky little girl!

On August 13, 2019, Purrple became the newest member of a family in Burton where she'll join several other DunRoamin' cats.  Her new family is amazing and she couldn't possibly have a better home or life ahead of her.  We are so grateful for everything your family does for DunRoamin' strays.  Thank you so much!  Congratulations, Purrple, you're one lucky little girl!!  Write soon!!

"Thyme" came to us on February 12, 2019 from Bath where she had been a stray who was hanging around a home.  She was stressed and no one was able to care for her.   She had no other option except us and we couldn't let anything happen to her - she's just a young little girl.

Thyme is a beautiful pewter grey girl who is settling in well.  She's got a bit of attitude, which we love!  She likes attention, but make sure you don't stop patting her until she says so - she's got attitude and may just give you a swat until you start patting her again!   She lived with several other cats with whom she got along very well.

On August 13, 2019, Thyme was excited to learn that she had been chosen to be a friend for Brittania (see below) and now lives in Fredericton where she shares her new home with Brittania and other new friends, including a young boy.  Congratulations, Thyme!  Send photos!!

"Brittania" came to us from the Hartland area on June 6, 2019.  She was diagnosed with mild stomatitis, had been exposed to fleas and ear mites, had upper respiratory infection and required some teeth to be removed.

Brittania was born about June 6, 2011 and is no doubt the mother of some of the approximately twenty cats who were living at this location.  She has beautiful colours and is happy to be warm and safe with her friends.

Brittania is polydactyl, or has multiple toes.  She is very friendly and is looking forward to having a home with lots of loving family.  She would like to be an indoor cat only, since it's way too easy to get hurt, cold or lost out there.  At eight years of age, she's a senior citizen who would like to enjoy a nice, quiet, peaceful retirement.  Do you know anyone who would like a warm, loving cat to share their lap?

On August 9, 2019, Brittania met a nice young lady who fit that exact description.  She now lives in Fredericton with two other cats and a young boy who will love her forever!  Congratulations, Brittania!  Send lots of photos!!

"Indira" came to us from the Hartland area on May 26, 2019, along with nine others.  She was born about January 26, 2019 and weighed only 2 pounds 9 ounces.  She had upper respiratory infection, discharge from her eyes and nose had had been exposed to ear mites and fleas.  She is polydactyl (has double paws).

Indira was cared for by the professionals at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where she received everything she needed, plus lots of loving!  She has been spayed, tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Feline Leukemia, fully vaccinated, treated for all parasites and was ready for a permanent home in no time.  She and her family would like to thank Dr Monteith and the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for all the help they have received.  We're all very grateful.

On July 26, 2019, Indira went to visit her friends at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, where she hoped to meet her new family.  Please drop in, have a great cup of coffee and say hello!  This is a wonderful cafe where you'll meet many new friends with both two and four feet!

On August 2, 2019, Indira was so happy to see her two new young friends return with a carrier!  She's going home!  She has fallen completely in love with both of her new friends and can't wait to start her new life.  We'll be watching for photos, Indira - all your DunRoamin' friends will miss you.  Congratulations!!

"Margaret Scratcher" came to us from the Hartland area on May 26, 2019, along with nine other cats. Margaret weighed 5 lb, 10 oz and had mild tartar on her teeth and a corneal scar on her right eye, probably the result of an old ulcer.  She also had earmites and fleas.  She was helping to nurse the eight kittens who came with her, some of whom may be her own.

Margaret Scratcher is a beautiful little girl who was born about November 26, 2016.  She's polydactyl (double paws) and is much too young to have a family, but she's great with the kittens.  Margaret was treated for any and all medical needs by her friends at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  She has been spayed, vaccinated and awaited a permanent home now.  She and her family would like to thank Dr Monteith and the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for all the help she and her friends have received.  We're all very grateful.  On June 14, 2019, Margaret Scratcher went to stay with our friends at The Purrfect Cup where she hoped to meet her new family.  We would like to thank the staff of The Purrfect Cup for their kindness, generosity and wonderful care of our cats.  You're amazing, and we appreciate you so much!

On August 2, 2019, Margaret was SO happy to make it official!  She is now the newest member of a wonderful family in Fredericton.  She thanks everyone who has played a part in changing her life forever.  Congratulations, Margaret!  Send lots of photos!!  We can't wait to hear about your wonderful new life!

"Diggory" came to us from the Hartland area on May 26, 2019, along with nine others.  He was born about April 26, 2019 and is a sweet little boy.  He weighed only 11 ounces.

Diggory had upper respiratory infection, a slight nasal discharge, moderate conjunctivitis and discharge from his eyes.  He was also exposed to fleas and earmites.  All these thing were remedied thanks to his caregivers at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.

Diggory loves to play with his siblings and we're hoping they can be adopted in pairs so that they'll always have a brother with whom to play, sleep and cuddle.  Diggory and his family would like to thank Dr Monteith for helping retrieve, examine and treat them on her day off - we all appreciate it!

On August 2, 2019, Diggory was elated to learn that he and his brother Diggory (see below) were invited to join a wonderful family in Somerville where they'll live happily ever after!  Congratulations!  Don't forget to stay in touch!

"Dumbledore" came to us from the Hartland area on May 26, 2019, along with nine others.  He was born about April 26, 2019 and is a sweet little boy.   He weighed only 14 ounces upon his arrival.

Dumbledore had upper respiratory infection, a slight nasal discharge, moderate conjunctivitis and discharge from his eyes.  He was also exposed to fleas and earmites.  All these things have been remedied thanks to his caregivers at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.

Dumbledore loves to play with his siblings and we're hoping they can be adopted in pairs so that they'll always have a brother with whom to play, sleep and cuddle.  Dumbledore and his family would like to thank Dr Monteith for helping retrieve, examine and treat them on her day off - we all appreciate it!

On August 2, 2019, Dumbledore got to go to the home of his dreams, and guess what??  His brother Diggory (see above) got to go along with him!  Best dream accomplished!  Congratulations, Dumbledore!  Send pictures!!

"Purrsnickitty" came to us from Oakland on June 10, 2019 along with nine other cats, as well as 16 others who had arrived on June 6, 2019, for a total of 26 from that location where they had been living in and around a home, but despite efforts to feed and care for them, they needed help.  All had experienced exposure to fleas and ear mites and many had such bad upper respiratory infections that they required intensive medical care.

Purrsnickety is a beautiful long-haired multi-coloured little girl whose right ear is a little shorter than the other, perhaps due to frostbite or other injury.  Purrsnickety had moderate infection in both eyes, gingivitis and was slim but relatively healthy.  All medical issues were addressed, she was spayed, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for all parasites.  She is anxious to meet a family where she can live out her life in the glamour and extravagance that she so rightly commands!  She has an attitude when she wants something, so watch out - you'll probably lose the battle, if you choose to take her on!  She is a beautiful little girl and she's looking forward to having her very own loving family very soon.

On July 27, 2019, Purrsnickitty was welcomed into the home of a young couple whom she had bewitched with her beauty and purrsonality.  She now lives with them and their other cat and they all are very happy.  Congratulations to you and your new family, Purrsnickitty.  Send pictures!

"Deluca" came to us from the NB SPCA on June 19, 2019, when he had been rescued, along with many friends and relatives, from a home which was overrun with cats.  Deluca was born about June 19, 2017 and we believe he is a sibling to Tulaine (see above).

Deluca had ear mites, dental disease and trauma behind his left ear, due most likely to scratching at the constant itch cuased by his earmites.  They have all been treated, he tested negative for FIV and FeLV and he is now neutered.

Deluca is a very nice little boy.  He and his brother Tulaine get along very well together and would appreciate getting a home together.  They are both quiet, loving little guys who would very much appreciate a new home and family.   On June 28, 2019, Tulaine moved in with his friends at The Purrfect Cup in Fredericton where he was soon having a blast!  He'd like to thank Craig and all his friends for showing him such a great time!

On July 26, 2019, Deluca and his brother Tulaine (see below) were so very excited to move to their permanent home together.  They now live in Oak Bay and are very happy to start their new life.  Congratulations!  Send lots of photos!

"Tulaine" came to us from the NB SPCA on June 19, 2019, when he had been rescued, along with many friends and relatives, from a home which was overrun with cats.  Tulaine was born about June 19, 2017 and is a brother to Deluca (see below).

Tulaine is a very nice, quiet little boy.   He'd love to go to a home with one of his siblings, if possible.  He had ear mites and resulting self-inflicted trauma to his left ear as a result.  He also had dental disease, hair loss and a superficial scratch on his nose.  He has been vaccinated, neutered and tested for FIV/FeLV.    He has also been treated for all parasites, so he's good to go!  All these tabby boys are sweet little fellows who love to knead and purr.  It would be so nice if they could go to homes in pairs, because they very obviously love each other.  On June 28, 2019, Tulaine moved in with his friends at The Purrfect Cup in Fredericton where he had a blast!  He'd like to thank Craig and all his other friends for being so wonderful!

On July 26, 2019, Tulaine was happy to learn that he and his brother Deluca (see above) had been chosen as the newest members of a family from Oak Bay where they'll live happily ever after.  Congratulations, everyone!  Don't forget to write and send  photos!!

"Brixx" came to DunRoamin' on April 1, 2019 from Newburg where he had been an indoor/outdoor cat who had recently come home with several injuries.  His owners were unable to undergo his care.

Brixx was examined by his new vet who learned that he had sustained open wounds on his head, neck and legs which had become infected.  In addition, his right front leg was swollen and tender, so he underwent x-rays to determine if his leg was broken - it obviously hurt him, but he understood that he was getting help and was quiet and grateful for the care.  It is probable that he had been attacked by another animal, resulting in his injuries.  His leg was not broken and he was soon fine, thanks to some rest, relaxation, nutritious food and lots of love and care from his servants.

Brixx was born about October 1, 2017 and is a very nice boy.  He was prescribed antibiotics to help deal with his infection, as well as pain medication.  As of June, 2019, Brixx is in perfect condition!  He's happy, healthy and can't wait to meet his new family!  He joined his friends at The Purrfect Cup in Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, on July 12, 2019, so please drop in, have a coffee and say hello!  Brixx would like to thank them for their hospitality, love and care.  They're wonderful people!

On July 26, 2019, Brixx was officially welcomed into his new family which includes one other cat.  He now lives in St George where we're pretty sure he's going to rule the whole household!  Congratulations to you and your new family!

"Mariel" came to DunRoamin' on August 9, 2018 from Beaconsfield where she and her sister, Vegahad been living in and around a drain pipe.  They had no one to care for them.

Mariel had ear mites, severe periodontal disease, was mildly dehydrated, was very skinny and had an upper respiratory infection.  She was already spayed, so had probably been part of a family at some time.  She was born about August 9, 2008, so it's time she had a safe, warm and loving place to spend her last years.  She was given intravenus fluids to help with her hydration, lots of good food and medication to help her get well quickly.  She will most probably have a "snorky" sound to her breathing, but she's perfectly happy with that - she's come such a long way!

Mariel has a cauliflower ear but is fine with that - it's not an issue, just a part of her.  She'd love to have a safe, loving home.  She's loving, purring, affectionate and grateful to be warm, safe, loved and fed.  Mariel particularly loves to chase a laser light - she plays with it every bit as much as the kittens do - and loves it even more!

On July 26, 2019, Mariel was chosen by a very nice young man from Tracey Mills to be part of his family which includes several other DunRoamin' cats and dogs.  You couldn't have it better, Mariel!  Congratulations!

"Adorabelle" came to us on April 15, 2019 from the Upper Queensbury area.  She had been diagnosed with several medical issues and her family was no longer able to care for her.  Adorabelle was born about August 13, 2008.

Adorabelle was examined by her new best vet friend and the following was learned:  Adorabelle is a bit overweight and she may require some dental work in the future, but she's good right now.  She had some tenderness in the middle of her back, but otherwise seems fine.  She has been undergoing treatment for some diarrhea in the past but is now perfectly fine.

She is currently eating Royal Canin Hypoallergenic food and is doing very well.  Adorabelle was dewormed, and her diarrhea is completely gone!  She's just hanging out and being herself - a beautiful and warm, loving little girl who awaits a loving family.

On July 20, 2019, Adorabelle was so very happy to be chosen by a young lady from Fredericton to be her new best friend.  She'll be spoiled beyond her dreams.  Congratulations to you and your new family, Adorabelle.  Send lots of photos!

"Barlow" came to DunRoamin' on January 24, 2017 from the NB SPCA, part of a large number of cats living together who needed help.  Barlow had ear mites and was quite timid, but he soon turned into the most amazingly affectionate little boy once he had lots of caring people who socialized with him often to make him feel safe and loved.

Barlow was born about January 24, 2015.  He has been neutered, vaccinated and received treatment for all parasites, as well as being tested for FIV and FeLV.  His hind legs are bowed a bit like a cowboy's, but he has no trouble getting around at all - he's just built that way!  He would love to have a quiet, loving home and would appreciate having another feline friend to keep him company.  He is a real cuddle cat who loves people.  His favourite pose is with his front paws on your knees asking to be picked up!  He has recently begun to have episodes which may be the result of a nerve problem, but he's being assessed regularly and he's doing well.  This is a condition which may be life-long, but he's not worried!  He's got the best friends and the best care possible!  On May 29, 2019, Barlow moved to a nice quiet foster home where he enjoyed sleeping on a human's bed and snuggling every single day and night!

On July 13, 2019, his family made it official.  Even his new friend Mitten (formerly DunRoamin's Lotus) welcomed him with open paws!  Congratulations, Barlow.  We look forward to hearing about you very often.  We are SO happy for you!

"Aero" came to us from Oakland on June 10, 2019 along with nine more cats, as well as 16 others who had arrived four days earlier, for a total of 26 from that location where they had been living in and around a home but had little care.  All had experienced exposure to fleas and ear mites and many had such bad upper respiratory infections that they required extensive medical care.

Aero was born about June 10, 2017.  Aero had mild gingivitis which was addressed very quickly, had been exposed to fleas and ear mites, and had upper respiratory infection, as did many of the cats from this location, some more severely than others.  Aero was very quickly spayed and vaccinated, as well as tested for FIV and FeLV.  She is a beautiful little girl who hopes to have the good fortune to be chosen by some loving humans to join their family.  She'd love to be a safe, indoor, spoiled family member!  She is very affectionate, gets along well with other cats and loves people!

On July 12, 2019, Aero met a very nice couple and their five-year old daughter and they all fell in love with each other! Aero now lives in Fredericton where she's the centre of attention, and she loves every second!  Congratulations, Aero, and the same to your new family!  Don't forget to send photos and tell us what your new life is like!

"Beast" came to DunRoamin' along with his brother Burden (see below) from Wakefield on May 31, 2019.  He had been born to an unspayed female along with four siblings in an apartment building.  Three of the kittens had found homes, but the landlord allowed only one cat per apartment so Beast and Burden had to go, but no homes could be found.  This decree threatened their physical health and welfare as no other alternative could be found.

Beast is a nice little boy who enjoys the company of his brother.  They have not been separated since their birth on February 17, 2019, so we hope that they can go to a new home together.  They are both healthy, happy, playful little guys who are already neutered.  They have received full vaccines, been treated for all parasites, tested for FIV and FeLV and are to go to a loving home.   They look forward to starting a wonderful new life together.

Burden and his brother Beast were the 26th and 27th strays accepted by DunRoamin' in May, 2019!  As of June 14, 2019, Beast and Burden are fostered at The Purrfect Cup in Fredericton where they are making fast friends with everyone!  Please come meet them and check out The Purrfect Cup - you'll love it there!

On July 15, 2019, Beast was elated to be adopted by a very nice young gentleman from Fredericton and he was very grateful to learn that his brother Burden was going with him!  They'll spend their entire lives together - they're brothers, and they're very happy!  Thanks to their new family!  Congratulations!

Beast and Burden were the 26th and 27th strays accepted by DunRoamin' during the month of May!  As of June 14, 2019, Burden and his brother Beast stayed at The Purrfect Cup where they hoped to meet their new family!  Please drop in - you'll love The Purrfect Cup

On July 15, 2019, Burden was elated to be adopted by a very nice young gentleman from Fredericton and he was very grateful to learn that his brother Beast was going with him!  They'll spend their entire lives together - they're brothers, and they're very happy to stay together!  Thanks to their new family!  Congratulations!

"Otto" and his siblings Anana, Azza and Neven came to us on June 6, 2019 from the Oakland area where they had been found in poor physical condition and obviously required help.  There were an additional 10 sick cats and kittens who were also obtained from that same location.  Otto was born about April 11, 2019.  We thank the person who discovered this colony of sick cats and brought them for help.

Otto's upper respiratory infection was so severely advanced that he required both eyes to be removed.  He was soon doing well, was pain-free and playing with his siblings now that he felt so much better.  It's amazing what a little professional medical care can do!

We have had one other cat, Helen, who also had to have both eyes removed.  She came to us on July 24, 2010, also with severe upper respiratory infection.  She was soon adopted and lives in Bath, NB with an amazing family who loves her and is grateful to have such an awesome family member.  Our fondest wish was that Otto would also be as fortunate to find such a loving family.

On July 4, 2019, Otto was adopted by an amazing couple in Lake George where he'll be a new friend for five other cats and a dog.  Four of the cats are former DunRoamin' cats, one of whom has one eye and one has three legs.  He'll be very welcomed and well-cared for in this family.  Congratulations, Otto.  You've come a very long way from where you were on June 6th.

"Grimsby" returned to us on April 28, 2019.   He had originally come to us on August 23, 2018 from Holmesville where he had sustained injuries, possibly from being struck by a vehicle.  He was born about May 2, 2017.

Grimsby required his tail to be amputated very close to his body, but he still has anal tone and sensation, so he's perfectly fine.  He was on pain medication, had to have his bladder expressed several times daily until he could do it himself, and underwent acupuncture to assist with his recovery, but he's now 100%.

During his first few days with us, he displayed himself to be a shy little boy who loved chin rubs and scratches.  He initially didn't want to eat much, but was doing so much better only two days later - he's been through a lot!

Grimsby has blossomed.  He is very affectionate, very social and most definitely very curious.  He's the first one to check out new people, new items, new sounds, new sights - the world is a gem to him!  He loves his food and is very interactive with everyone and everything!

On April 20, 2019, Grimsby was adopted by a young lady along with Janine (see our Adopted Cats page), but very sadly, her landlord declined to allow her to have one extra cat, so Grimsby had to return to us.  That's sad, because he and Janine were the very best of friends.

Grimsby came back to The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe where he was soon ruling the roost again!  He is very funny and mischievous, and is well loved by the staff - he's all purrsonality!!  We'd like to thank Korey, Shona, Craig, Reid, Julie and all others who welcome these furballs into their cafe - it's an amazing place!  Please drop in and check it out!!

On June 29, 2019, Grimsby impressed a young man so much that he decided that he'd better invite him to join his family!  Grimsby now lives in Fredericton where he's the new best friend of a young couple who think he's the very best!  Congratulations to all!

"Scarlet" came to us on May 9, 2019 from the Stickney area near where Tiller, our Cerebellar Hyperplasia cat had been found.  She had been living on her own and constantly faced the dangers of traffic and wild animals who had been seen in the area.  She is timid, but social.  We hope to be able to spay and neuter the feral cats from that area so that it will not turn into a larger colony than that which already exists.

Scarlet was born about May 9, 2017.  She is long-haired and beautiful.  She currently has a bit of attitude, but who doesn't when they're that beautiful?  She's starting to put on some weight and is happy to be warm and safe.  She has been spayed and her routine vaccines and tests have begun.  She will be ready for a home by the end of May.  She looks forward to being an indoor loved cat where she will not have to face the dangers of such things as traffic, predators and weather.

As of June 14, 2019, Scarlet stayed with her friends at The Purrfect Cup in Fredericton where she hoped to meet her new family!  Please drop in - you'll love The Purrfect Cup!

On June 28, 2019, Scarlet hit the jackpot when she was adopted by a very nice family from Fredericton.  She'll be a new friend for Fluffy, and she'd like to say thanks to her Purrfect Cup friends for the wonderful opportunity to spend time with them and to find a wonderful home.  Congratuations, Scarlet!  Don't forget to send lots of photos!  We'll all miss you!

Kaygan is a very nice, quiet little girl.  She'd love to go to a home with one of her siblings, if possible.  She had ear mites and trauma to her ears, probably due to the ear mites she had.  She has been spayed, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV.

Yoshi is a very sweet, quiet little boy.   He'd love to go to a home with one of his siblings, if possible.  He had ear mites and gingivitis which were remedied, and he's fine now.  He has been vaccinated, neutered and tested for FIV/FeLV.    He has also been treated for all parasites, so he's good to go!  All these tabby boys are sweet little fellows who love to knead and purr.  It would be so nice if they could go to homes in pairs, because they very obviously love each other.

On June 26, 2019, Yoshi and his brother Tolstoy (see below) moved to the Oromocto SPCA.  We thank our friends in Oromocto for their help in finding these beautiful boys a new home.  They now live in a beautiful home together where they'll live happily ever after!  Thank you!

"Nebula" and her brothers Drax (see below) and Thanos came to us on May 1, 2019 from Gordonsville where they had been born to an unspayed mother.  As there were already multiple cats living at this location, there was no room for them.

Nebula is black with a small white patch of fur between her hind legs.  She is very loving, trusting and affectionate.  She loves to sleep in a kitten pile with her brothers and she loves to play and wrestle with them as well.  If at all possible, she'd love to have a home with one of her brothers or at least with another feline friend.  Nebula has completed her vaccine protocol and is ready for adoption.  She was born about February 21, 2019.

On June 17, 2019, Nebula met a very nice lady from Fredericton who invited her and her brother Drax (see below) to join her family.  They now live with this wonderful family in Fredericton.  Their new names are Max and Macie.  Congratulations!!  We'd also like to thank this lady for donating personally and obtaining donations from friends to help the 42 cats we have accepted in this past few days.  Max and Macie are very appreciative of the support for their less-fortunate friends.

"Drax," his sister Nebula (see above) and brother Thanos came to us on May 1, 2019 from Gordonsville where they had been born to an unspayed mother.  As there were already multiple cats living at that location, there was no place for these three.

Drax is completely black.  He was a little timid, but he's quickly gotten over that with the love and care from his new human caregivers.  He is healthy and has begun his vaccine protocol.  He's anxious to have a real family and will be ready to go to a new home very soon!  He was born about February 21, 2019 and was fostered with a very special family in Coldstream as of May 2, 2019, where they learned so many good things.

On June 17, 2019, Drax and his sister Nebula were adopted by a very nice lady from Fredericton where they'll be friends for her other cats.  Now renamed Max and Macie, they're having a ball with their new family.  Congratulations!!  We'd also like to thank this lady for donating personally and obtaining donations from her friends to help the 42 cats we have accepted in this past few days.  Max and Macie are very appreciative of the support for their less-fortunate friends.

"Dominic" came to us on April 29, 2019 from Clarkville, NB.  He had a huge hernia on his belly - almost the size of a softball!  Dominic required surgery to repair the hernia which took place the very next day.  He thanks his best vet friend for the quick and excellent medical care.  Dominic was born about April 30, 2018.

Dominic is now in perfect health.  He is a very friendly, loving and affectionate little boy.  He has one blue eye and one green eye which adds to his already-abundant charm!  He looks you right in the eye and responds to your comments or questions with a very cute little purr/meow combination.  He's very sweet and loving.  He can't wait to have a family who will love him and keep him indoors and safe.  Now that he doesn't have that softball-sized hernia, he's so much more comfortable!

Dominic is completely up to date on his vaccinations and is eager to go to a new home.  Please come meet him - you'll be won over in seconds!  He moved to The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe on June 1, 2019 and hoped to meet his new family there very soon!

"Vega" came to DunRoamin' on August 9, 2018 from Beaconsfield where she and her sister, Mariel had been living in and around a drain pipe.  They had no one to care for them.

Vega had ear mites, moderate periodontal disease and was dehydrated.  She was also lethargic, but with lots of care, good food and hydration, she was soon feeling much better.  She was very quiet, loving, affectionate and grateful and would love to have a new home where she could be safe and loved for her remaining years.  She'd love it if her sister Mariel could go with her, too.  Vega was born about August 9, 2008.

Vega has come out of her shell and is an amazingly affectionate and attentive little girl.  She had the privilege of being fostered at The Purrfect Cup in Fredericton.  Please drop in and have a cup of coffee with Vega and her friends.  Tell them DunRoamin' sent you!

On June 14, 2019, Vega was very excited to leave for her permanent home.  She's now the best friend of a very nice young lady in Fredericton, where she'll be treated like a queen forever.  Don't forget to send photos, Vega!  Congratulations!

Wyatt was quickly taken for a complete physical examination by his new best vet friend who immediately diagnosed diabetes.  He also had moderate cataracts due to his age.  Wyatt was prescribed medication and a diabetic diet and was soon doing exceptionally well.  He uses the litter box consistently.  He head butts and purrs even more consistently!  He is no longer on medication of any kind and does not require special food!  He hopes for a loving family very soon.  He certainly deserves it so he can spend his retirement years in love, health and comfort.

Wyatt moved to The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe on June 1, 2019 where he had a blast with all his new servants and wonderful visitors.  This is where he met his new very best friend.

Furdinand is one of our most affectionate cats.  He loves people, toys, food, sounds, sights - EVERYTHING!  He is very attentive and he'll make someone a wonderful new family member.  He has huge big tomcat cheeks and he loves to purr and get as close to his favourite humans as he can.  If you pick him up, he'll hug you!  And he looks you right in the eye when you talk to him!

On June 2, 2019, Furdinand met a young lady and her mom from Richibucto Road and they all fell immediately in love.  Furdinand began his new life today and he's very happy and excited (we all are!)  Furdinand's official new name is Norman Furdinand Jewett-DunRoamin' and he's very proud of that.  We can't wait to see lots of photos of you with your new family!  Congratulations!!

** FIV is contagious to other cats through blood and saliva.  It is reasonably difficult to spread, however, and now believed to be mostly spread through deep bite wounds.  Obviously it would be ideal if FIV-positive cats only lived with other FIV-positive cats, but currently some of the large rescue centers in the US have been studying multi-cat households with FIV-positive cats living with FIV-negative cats and have found the risk to the non-FIV cats to be very small, assuming that the cats are all spayed/neutered and used to living in groups (ie:  not as likely to fight).  We currently have FIV+ cats living with FIV- cats in foster homes and have experienced no difficulty whatsoever.

Please read about FIV here.

"Nascat" returned to us on April 26, 2019.  He was born about January 2, 2012 and originally came to us with a broken pelvis, no doubt due to an altercation with a motor vehicle.  As a result of this accident he had lost his tail and sustained injury to his pelvis and kidney and was therefore unable to pee on his own until he healed.  He had been adopted by a family in January, 2018, but due to his love of human food that was offered by young children, he was prone to diarrhea, so he came back to us to find a new home.  Since being on his cat food diet, there have been no recurrences - his body (like that of most cats) just doesn't "do" human food!

On February 9, 2019, Nascat was invited to be a foster kitty at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe while he awaited that perfect family to ask him to join them.  While there, he made himself known as a true celebrity and was loved by all, especially the Purrfect Cup staff.  He is extremely alert, attentive and loving, and his gaze is so intent that we're quite sure that he can read minds sometimes!

Nascat was adopted on March 20, 2019, along with his friend Gibbs but was returned due to the fact that he and Gibbs were not getting along and Nascat was reported to be leaking urine on occasion.  He immediately received a full examination by his best vet friend and was given a full clean bill of health - he has not leaked at all since his return to us nor since his return to The Purrfect Cup on May 3, 2019.

Nascat has a very unique, loving, curious and interesting personality.  He loves everyone, everything and his curiosity and interest are piqued by everyone and everything!  He's adorable!

On June 1, 2019, Nascat was very happy to learn that he had been chosen to join the family of a very nice young man from Fredericton.  He will be a new friend for Anthony, a very nice cat who has been looking for the perfect roommate.  Congratulations, Nascat!  We're looking forward to lots of photos and stories from you new life!  Thanks, Dan!!

"Blarney" came to us on February 28, 2019 from Hartland, NB - the same location from which Zannie came three days earlier (see below).  They appear to be the best of friends and were very happy to be reunited.  Blarney had apparently been stranded in an abandoned house when the owners left and was very hungry, cold and lonely.

Blarney was examined by his new vet friend who found that, among other things, he had sustained a traumatic amputation of his tail - that must have hurt!  He underwent surgery to repair the remaining section and he is perfectly fine now.  We believe he was born about August 28, 2016.  He and Zannie cuddle and coo together and provide each other with much love and comfort.  We would like them to go to a home together - they deserve that!  They look very much alike - the easiest way to tell them apart is that Zannie has her full tail and Blarney has only a short stub.  Blarney is more outgoing initially and Zannie is comforted by his presence and takes her cues from him.   If he's okay, she's okay!

As of May 3, 2019, Blarney and his friend Zannie stayed with their friends at The Purrfect Cup in Fredericton.  Please drop in, have a great cup of coffee and say hello!

On June 1, 2019, Blarney and his best friend Zannie were ECSTATIC to learn that they were both invited to live with a very nice young lady from Fredericton.  They'll stay together for the rest of their lives and have a warm, safe, loving family.  We are so very happy for you both, and for your new mom, too!  She's got two wonderful new family members!  Please write often and send lots of photos!

"Zannie" came to us on February 25, 2019 from Hartland where she had been abandoned when her owner moved away approximately two weeks previously.  She and several others had been left homeless and were wandering between houses searching for food and shelter from the terribly cold weather we've been experiencing of late.  Although scared, she was able to be caught by a kind supporter and brought for help.

Zannie was born about February 25, 2018, so was about a year old.  Other than being cold, scared and hungry, she was in decent health.  She was fully vaccinated, spayed, treated for parasites and tested for FIV and FeLV.  Zannie was very grateful to finally be warm and safe and to have a full belly.  She is a beautiful little girl who rapidly settled in, once she knew she was finally safe and given the the wonderful gift of being able to look forward to a new, safe and loving home!

As of May 4, 2019, Zannie and her friend Blarney (see above) were fostered at The Purrfect Cup in Fredericton.  Please drop in, have a great cup of coffee and spend some time!  We'd like to thank the owners and staff of The Purrfect Cup for all their assistance!

On June 1, 2019, Zannie and her friend Blarney, who are inseparable, were adopted to a wonderful home in Fredericton where they'll have the life they deserve.  And they get to stay together!!!  Congratulations!!  And thank you to their new mom for allowing them to remain together as family.  It means the world to us all!

"Flerken" came to us on March 25, 2019 from Woodstock where he had been a stray who had been hanging around the neighbourhood for a couple of years.  He had last been seen about a week previously and seemed fine, but on March 24, 2019 he had showed up with an obvious eye injury.  He needed medical attention that no one could provide.  Flerken was born about March 25, 2016.

Flerken was accepted by DunRoamin' and immediately examined by his new vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  He was found to be matted, covered with a huge amount of flea dirt and the entire right side of his face was swollen.   Pus was discharging from his face indicating an obvious infection and he was covered in an oily substance.  He'd obviously been on his own for a while and needed help.  Flerken required to be shaved and bathed to relieve him of his mats and dirt and he was provided with medications to fight infection and to help his wounds heal.

Flerken was already neutered when he arrived and is very loving and affectionate, so has had human contact and care at some time in his life.  He's grateful that the last couple of years are over for him and that he'll be warm, safe, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV, treated for all parasites and that he'll have nothing but the best life possible from here on out as an indoor cat, free to forget about the dangers of the outside world.

On May 18, 2019, Flerken went to stay with his new friends at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, NB, where he had a wonderful time!   Please come have a great cup of coffee and visit with all the cats at The Purrfect Cup.  It's a great place and they all LOVE company!

On June 1, 2019, Flerken was very excited to leave for his new home in Fredericton where he'll be a friend for two other cats, including one who is almost his twin!  We're looking forward to family photos!  Congratulations, Flerken, to you and your new family!  Have a wonderful life!

"Perry" came to us on July 26, 2018 from a local shelter that had no place to house an FeLV-positive cat.  As Beadle and Charity, also FeLV-positive cats, were always up for company, Perry was immediately welcomed!

Perry was born about June 14, 2017 and is a beautiful little boy.  He had been hanging around and was being fed since last winter and had finally agreed to come inside.  He had already been neutered, so had belonged to someone prior to his arrival.   His vaccines were brought up to date and he was tested for FIV (negative results) and FeLV (positive results).  Since he tested positive for FeLV, he will be kept segregated from other FeLV-negative cats to ensure it is not transmitted.   Other than having an infected toe which was treated, Perry was perfectly healthy.   He is a beautiful boy who showed trust and affection to us without hesitation.  He would love to live in a home either by himself or with another FeLV-positive cat.  Please read about FeLV below.  Perry was very fortunate to be fostered by a very caring family with another FeLV+ cat, Beadle (see below) since September 10, 2018, where he was spoiled beyond belief!  Yahooooo!  Finally!!

On May 26, 2019, we were informed that Perry and his best friend Beadle would not be leaving their foster home.  They love it there and their family loves them!  They have taken over the couch, the most comfy chairs and since it's their home, they're staying!  Congratulations!  Thanks, Angie!!

"Beadle" came to us on June 21, 2018 from the Woodstock area where he was part of the Community Cat Program sponsored by PetSmart Charities of Canada to spay and neuter 150 unowned cats in the Woodstock area.  Unfortunately, Beadle was not well.  He had diarrhea, was skinny and tested positive for Feline Leukemia.  He was born about April 11, 2017.

Beadle was treated for his illness and was soon back to health.  He hoped that someone would like to help him by giving him a home . . . please?  A very kind lady offered to foster him and his friend Perry (see above) and they went to stay there on September 10, 2018.

On May 26, 2019, we learned that Beadle didn't want to leave his foster home and Perry (see above) agreed.  They sweet-purred their foster mother like no had ever done before, and now they're permanent members!  It was just a technicality, in their mind, but it's OFFICIAL NOW!  Congratulations to all!  Thanks, Angie!

"Mariette" returned to us on March 11, 2019.  She originally came to us on August 22, 2018 from the Hartland Golf Course where she had been begging for food to ensure she could feed herself and her four babies Millie, Malcolm, Ombrea and Cleo.  She was born about August 22, 2017, so was still a baby herself and should not have had to have babies of her own to care for.

Mariette was thin, had ear mites and an old injury to her right eye which was assessed by her new best vet friend and will cause her no concern.  She was friendly, cautious of dogs and very loving and affectionate.  She was also very appreciative of having food for herself and her babies.  She loved people, loved to be petted and loved to snuggle.  She was adopted to a home in Newbridge along with her daughter, Millie (see below), but her family had to move into a home that didn't allow pets so she and Millie came back to us to find a new home.  As of April 6, 2019, she was fostered with her friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton.  Mariette has become a little timid and unsure of herself, but we're sure she just needs some stability in her life.  She and her daughter are very close and have never been separated.  We hoped that they might be adopted together, and . . .

. . . on May 18, 2019, that hope became reality when Mariette was chosen to join her daughter, Millie (see below) as permanent residents of a home in Fredericton!  This photo is of Mariette in her new home on her very first day, and she's settling in well.  She is grateful to have the comfort and security of her daughter Millie, as well as the love and care of her new mother.  Thank you SO much!  Congratulations to all!

"Millie" returned to us on March 11, 2019.  She originally came to us on August 22, 2018 from the Hartland Golf Course with her mom, Mariette (see above) and three siblings Ombrea, Malcolm and Cleo.  Her mom was trying to survive by scrounging for food for her babies.  It was not a safe place with all the vehicles and wild animals in the area, and Millie was grateful to be in a nice, warm, safe and loving foster home.

Millie was born about July 4, 2008.  She loves to lay in the window and is a very relaxed little girl.  She likes her nap time, but she is also very playful, friendly and energetic.  She is fully vaccinated, spayed, treated for all parasites and tested for FIV/FeLV so she has the very best chance at a good and safe life!   Millie was adopted along with her mom in October, 2018, but her family had to move into a home that did not allow pets, so she and her mom Mariette returned to us to find another home. As of April 6, 2019, she is fostered with our friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, NB.  As she and her mom Mariette have never been separated since her birth, we hoped that they might be adopted to a home together.

On May 18, 2019, a very nice young lady from Fredericton decided that she'd love to offer both Mariette and Millie a home.  We're so happy they get to stay together!  Congratulations, Millie and Mariette!  And congratulations to your new mom.  You're all going to have the most wonderful life together!!

"Spring" came to us on March 20, 2019 (the first day of "Spring") from Centreville where he had been observed sitting in a snowbank for the entire day.  When people approached him, he yelled at them but did not run away.  They were uncertain about approaching him, so called for help.

A DunRoamin' volunteer attended and observed that there were no tracks around where he was sitting so he had been there for quite some time - perhaps much longer than the eight hours he had been observed there.  The spot where he was sitting had frozen to ice from his body heat.  Gentle encouragement allowed him to be placed in a kennel and brought for help.

Spring was already neutered and was in decent health.  He was cold, hungry and exhausted, though, and once he realized he was warm, safe and had a full belly he could not keep his eyes open, try as he would.  He spent the next two days catching up on his sleep - he probably was exhausted trying to stay awake to ensure he was not attacked by predators, so he has made good use of his safe time in his kennel!

Spring has begun his vaccine protocol and tested negative for FIV and FeLV.  He'll soon be ready for a home where he hopes he can live inside where it's safe and warm.  He is very friendly, affectionate and grateful for the assistance he has received.

On May 3, 2019, Spring went to stay with his new friends at The Purrfect Cup, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, where he lived and loved the life!  Thanks to our friends at The Purrfect Cup for fostering him!

On May 18, 2019, Spring was adopted by a young couple from Fredericton where he'll be the best friend of their toddler son and their other feline family member.  Spring is very excited to begin his new life - certainly beats sitting in a snowbank!!  Don't forget to send photos, Spring!  Congratulations!

"Mewcifurr" came to us on February 28, 2019 from Carlisle where she had probably been dropped off.  She was unwanted and not in good shape.  She was cold, hungry and emaciated.  She was examined by her new veterinarian friend and was prescribed all necessary medical care.

Mewcifurr was soon doing well.  She was born about February 28, 2017 but appears much younger than two years due to her size.  She'll grow well now, though, with lots of good food and care.   She is loving, attentive and playful.  She is a beautiful little girl who anxiously awaited a loving family who would care for her for the rest of her life.  She  has been spayed, fully vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV and has been treated for all parasites.  She's hoping for that wonderful family of which she's been dreaming!

On May 13, 2019 Mewcifurr's dream came true when she was officially adopted to a home in Florenceville where she'll help her new mother with all her paperwork!  She loves her new home and has settled in very quickly and happily.  We're so grateful to your new mom, Mewcifurr!  Send lots of photos!

"Furgie" came to us from the NB SPCA on January 31, 2019.  Born about January 31, 2012, she is a beautiful little girl who was initially very timid, but has easily learned that we're friends and want only the best for her.  As she had come from a location where several cats were diagnosed with Feline Leukemia (FeLV), she was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019 at which time she tested negative!  Congratulations, Furg!!

Furgie is a little overweight but is working on that.  She is happy to have a nice pat and chin scratch and would love to have a home where she could have lots of attention, preferably with another feline friend or two.  Furgie was already spayed when she arrived.  She is very proud of her beautiful tabby, orange and white colours and fully realizes how beautiful she is!  She'd love a family to show off to every single day!  She is extremely affectionate and loves to lay on your lap, be patted and just have your love and attention! She is very kind, gentle and affectionate with children.

On May 10, 2019, Furgie was invited to join a wonderful family that lives in Centreville.  She'll be the best friend for the adults, children and for Churchill - a DunRoamin' cat who has also had the honour of becoming a family member.  Thanks so much for all you do for DunRoamin'!  Congratulations, Furgie!

"Rene" came to us on February 3, 2019 from Wicklow where she was in danger of being euthanized.  We couldn't let this happen - she's very young, having been born about March 20, 2016.  Rene was already spayed when she came to us.

Rene was stressed upon arrival, but was soon doing very well.  She had fleas and ear mites and mild tartar on her teeth.  She was examined by her vet, treated for all and she's happy to be warm, safe and fed.  Her vaccines are all up to date and she'll be happy to have a nice, loving home.  She is a sweet, attentive, loving little girl who would love to join a family.

As of March 9, 2019, Rene was fostered at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton where she enjoyed the company of her Purrfect Cup servants and all who visited.

On May 4, 2019, Rene was adopted by a very nice young lady who lives in Fredericton.  Rene will be her best friend, and vice versa.  Congratulations, Rene!  Send lots of photos!!

"Carn" came to us on January 31, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  She was born about January 31, 2017, so is about two years old.  Because Carn came from a location where Feline Leukemia had been found in other cats, she was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019.  Her test came back negative, so she's perfectly fine and healthy!  We believe Carn is a sibling to Klondike, Baskin and Scotsburn, several of the eighteen cats we received that day.

Carn is an exceptionally social little girl who loves other cats and all people.  She loves to play, cuddle and chase toys.  She actively seeks out human interaction, so if you're looking for a very interactive new friend, she's your girl!  She loves to chase a laser light and will come when called - just wiggle your fingers and she'll be there!  She is exceptionally loving and is a real sweetheart.

On May 3, 2019, Carn was adopted by a young lady from Woodstock who can't wait to get her home!  She will be her new best friend, and vice versa.  Congratulations, Carn.   Please write really soon.  We'll all miss you - very much!

"Tiller" came to us on April 17, 2019 from Stickney, NB where he had been living as a barn cat.  A kind person noticed him staggering around, caught him and brought him to us, knowing that he needed help.  Tiller was born about April 17, 2018.

Tiller was diagnosed with a mild case of Cerebellar Hyperplasia (CH), a condition that results from parts of his brain not being fully developed.  CH cats may display such things as head bobbing, limb tremors or unsteadiness on their feet.  This condition may be aggravated due to movement, excitement or eating.  It does not become progressively worse with age and they learn to adapt by such methods as taking a wider stance, for example.  They normally require no extra care, other than ensuring they are safe (ie:  not having access to a flight of stairs they may not be capable of navigating).  We have had several cats with this condition, including Vivica, Paulie and Pocket.  You can see videos here:  Vivica and Paulie and Pocket.

On May 3, 2019, Tiller was adopted by a young man who had met him earlier and fallen head over heals for him.  Tiller now lives in Wicklow where he shares the home with several other cats and dogs.  Congratulations, Tiller!  Stay in touch!  We'll miss you!

"Cadbury" returned to DunRoamin' on May 18, 2018 from Woodstock where she had been adopted nine years earlier.  She, her mom and her five siblings had originally been found in a condemned house in Plaster Rock in October, 2009 and unfortunately, as no one wanted them, they were due to be euthanized.  We couldn't let that happen.  Her mom, Mirage, and siblings Caramel, Reese, Crunch and Bounty all found homes.  As someone in Cadbury's home developed allergies, Cadbury came back to us to find a new family.  She was born about September 15, 2009.

Cadbury is a beautiful little orange, black and white girl.  She was apprehensive of her new environment, but slowly acclimatized.  She hopes for a new family very soon where she can sleep on a bed and receive the love and care with which she has become so familiar.  Cadbury takes some time to acclimatize to new environments - it may take her a few weeks, but once she's comfortable, she's comfortable!

On July 24, 2018, Cadbury was chosen as a foster cat by a very kind lady in Coldstream while she awaits a permanent family.  Congratulations, Cadbury.  Enjoy your time with this wonderful family!

Update:  Cadbury returned to us on February 23, 2019 and is hoping to get a permanent home!  She thanks her foster family for their love and care - it's made a huge difference to her!

On May 3, 2019, Cadbury was so happy to learn that she would be the newest family member of Asia, a former DunRoamin' cat who was adopted in June, 2016.  Cadbury now lives in Oakland with a family who adores her, and she gives that right back!  She settled in quickly and comfortably and now shares the bed with Asia and sleeps on her new mother constantly!  Congratulations, Cadbury!!

"Tawny" came to us on April 3, 2019, from Knowlesville where she had become very constipated and her owners were unable to undertake her care.  She had a painful abdomen and was straining to defecate.  Radiographs showed that she was extremely constipated.  She also bruised easily and her bloodwork showed low platelets.  She was mildly dehydrated and had moderate tartar on her teeth.  Tawny was born about December 19, 2014.

Tawny was already spayed upon arrival and her FIV and FeLV tests have come back negative.  Tawny is under the care of her vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where she is receiving all the medical attention she requires.  As she was not willing to eat on her own, she received a feeding tube on April 4, 2019 and by April 5, 2019 was feeling much better.  As of April 13, 2019, she's eating a bit on her own.  We'll keep you up to date on her progress.  She is a beautiful little girl who is hoping to feel even better in the near future.

On May 1, 2019, Tawny got to celebrate May Day in a very special way when she was officially adopted into the home of a young lady who had fallen in love with her.  She now lives in Carlow where she'll have a wonderful life.  Congratulations, Tawny!

"Chess" came to us on January 31, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  She was born about June 20, 2018, so is about seven months old.  Because Chess came from a location where Feline Leukemia had been found in other cats, she was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019.  Her retest proved that she does not have Feline Leukemia!  Congratulations!  She is petite and tiny for her age, but is very healthy.

Chess was originally timid, but who wouldn't be if you moved into a new place with lots of new sights, sounds and smells?  She has since settled in very comfortably and is a sweet, affectionate little girl.  We believe Chess is a sibling to Toes (see below) and they love to play together.  She is more quiet than most of her friends, but loves to be patted and played with.  Chess has extra toes - she's polydactyl!

On April 27, 2019, Chess was happy to learn that she and her brother Toes (see below) were to have a home in Somerville where they'll be spoiled beyond their wildest dreams!  We thank their new family for keeping them together - they love each other!  Don't forget to send photos and tell us all about your new life, Chess!

"Toes" came to us on January 31, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  He was born about June 20, 2018, so was only about seven months old.  Because Toes came from a location where Feline Leukemia had been found in other cats, he was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019, at which time we learned he definitely did not have Feline Leukemia!  Yay!!!

Toes was named because of his double paws - he is polydactyl!  He is very energetic, curious, loves to play and loves people.  He likes to have lots to keep his attention, because if he's not sleeping or eating, he's playing!  He is very social, very loving and will make anyone who loves him feel the same right back!  We believe Toes is a sibling to Chess (see above).  Toes has a kink in his tail which makes him even more adorable (if that's possible!)  He'd like to have at least one other cat friend with whom to play and burn off some of his energy!

On April 27, 2019, Toes got the very best present of his life when he was adopted by a couple who live in Somerville.  And the other best part?  His sister Chess (see above) got to go with him!  They'll have the best life ever!  Don't forget to send photos!!

"Gorbie" came to us on February 20, 2019 from Greenfield where he had been found in the ditch.  He was limping and needed help.  His new vet examined him and found he was very thin, very cold, very hungry and had several abscesses on his body.  He was also diagnosed with radial nerve paralysis in his right front leg.  Gorbie was born about June 20, 2018.

Gorbie was soon eating up a storm and purring constantly.  He was grateful to be warm, safe and have lots of food.  He received laser treatment for his leg and we hoped it would be okay, but that was not to be the case. On March 8, 2019, Gorbie underwent surgery to remove his leg as it could not be repaired.  He was also neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV and FeLV.  He did very very well after his surgery and is very playful and happy.  Cats do amazingly well on three legs and he's acclimatizing very well and very quickly.  He's very happy to be safe, loved, fed and pain-free!

On April 24, 2019, Gorbie was so  happy to learn that he had won the hearts of two wonderful people and that he would now have a permanent home in Oakland with a small dog and other cats.  Congratulations, Gorbie!  Your new name, Jagger, begins a whole new life!  Write soon!

"Purrcephone" came to us from Oakland on February 27, 2019 where she had been found in a snowbank.  She was extremely hypothermic and barely moved when picked up - our days have been cold and our nights have been much colder - easily around -25*C.  She was also so scared when she regained consciousness that she bit and scratched her rescuer and her rescuer was no longer comfortable with her.

Purrcephone was surrendered to us to ensure she received the proper medical care from the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  She was soon doing very well and is extremely cuddly and affectionate - she loves everyone!  She has been spayed, vaccinated and tested for FIV and FeLV.   She knows what she wants, and that's attention!

On April 23, 2019, Purrcephone was adopted by a young lady from Saint John who wanted a friend for her other DunRoamin' cat, Sylvie.  Congratulations to the entire family!  Have a great life, Purrcephone!  Send lots of photos!  Hi, Sylvenia!

"Grimsby" came to us on August 23, 2018 from Holmesville where he had sustained injuries, possibly from being struck by a vehicle.  He was born about May 2, 2017.

Grimsby required his tail to be amputated very close to his body, but he still has anal tone and sensation, so he's perfectly fine.  He was on pain medication, had to have his bladder expressed several times daily until he could do it himself, and underwent acupuncture to assist with his recovery.

During his first few days with us, he displayed himself to be a shy little boy who loved chin rubs and scratches.  He initially didn't want to eat much, but was doing so much better only two days later - he's been through a lot!

As of December 14, 2018, Grimsby is just wonderful and has no issues at all!  He loved his friends in Gen Pop and got along well with everyone.  He's happy, healthy and ready for a wonderful new home!  On February 9, 2019, Grimsby was invited to come stay with his friends at The Purrfect Cup in Fredericton where he hoped to meet that perfect family.  Grimsby's personality flourished in his new foster home, and he became very well loved, especially by his new friend Craig!  While there, he and Janine (see below) became fast friends, so . . .

. . . on April 20, 2019, Grimsby was adopted by a very nice young lady from Fredericton who, when she realized they were so close, could not leave one behind without the other!  Grimsby and Janine now share a home with another cat, where they'll live the life of which they've always dreamed, and the life which they so deserve!  Thanks, Mary, for giving them this wonderful gift!  Write soon!  Congratulations to all!

Thanks, Craig, for all your help at The Purrfect Cup!!

"Janine" came to us on February 4, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  She was born about February 4, 2017, so was about two years old.  Because Janine came from a location where Feline Leukemia had been found in other cats, she was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019 at which time it was found that she does not have Feline Leukemia!  Congratulations!

Janine is very affectionate, outgoing and cuddly.  She's the first to greet her human servants and she loves each and every one of them.  She also loves to play - just give her a toy and she's good for hours!  She would love to have a home with at least one other cat - she is very social with both cats and humans.

As of March 23, 2019, Janine was very pleased to be fostered at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton.  Please drop in - you'll love the Cat Cafe!  Janine thanks all her friends who cared for her and all the people who visited while she was there.

On April 20, 2019, Janine was adopted by a young lady from Fredericton, and because she knew that Janine loved him, she also adopted her friend Grimsby as well, so that they would not be separated!  Thank you SOOOO much!  Congratulations, Janine!  Send lots of photos!

Thanks, Craig, for all your help at The Purrfect Cup!!

"Briars" came to us on January 31, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  She was born about July 31, 2017, so was about two years old.  Because Briars came from a location where Feline Leukemia had been found in other cats, she was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019 to determine if she had contracted it also.  Her retest proved she was negative!  Congratulations - you're perfectly fine!.

Briars is a beautiful little girl who enjoys playing with toys and taking naps - and everything in between.  She has extra toes - she's polydactyl!  She is a petite little girl who loves people.  As of April 6, 2019, she's been staying with her friends at The Purrfect Cup in Fredericton where she's been spoiled by all her new friends.  She is grateful for the love and care she has received there.

On April 20, 2019, Briars was adopted by a young lady who had fallen in love with her.  She now lives in Oromocto where she'll live the perfect life - just what she's always dreamed of and just what she's always deserved!  Congratulations, Briars!  Please don't forget to send photos and tell us all about your new family and your new life!  We'll miss you!

"Tonic" came to us on January 31, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  She was born about January 31, 2018, so is about two years old.  Because Tonic came from a location where Feline Leukemia had been found in other cats, she was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019.  Her retest showed that she did not have Feline Leukemia - she's perfectly healthy!

Tonic is very playful and outgoing.  She loves people and she loves other cats.  She hopes for a new family soon where she can live the life of which she's been dreaming.  On April 6, 2019, she went to stay with her friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, where she was loved by all.  She thanks all her friends there for everything they've done for her!

On April 20, 2019, Tonic was elated to go to her new home with a very nice young lady from Fredericton where she'll live happily ever after and be spoiled beyond her wildest dreams!  Congratulations, Tonic!  Send photos!  We'll miss you!

Reid Bennett from The Purrfect Cup says goodbye to Tonic
as she leaves with her new family on her adoption day!

"Pokey" came to DunRoamin' from the Jacksontown area on January 28, 2019.  He had porcupine quills in his face, was starving and emaciated as a result and the pain must have been terrible.  He also had ear mites and a grating sound when his joints were moved but x-rays revealed no problem.  The quills were immediately removed, he was warmed up and given nourishment - he dived into any food presented to him and he's very happy to drink all the fresh water placed in front of him!  He was very skinny and was fortunate to have been rescued.  Pokey was born about January 28, 2016.

Pokey was cared for by his new vet team and he's so grateful for the assistance.  We know he's happy to have those quills removed, be pain free, have a warm, safe bed and have access to food and water, but there's a lot more to this little guy.  His personality shows more and more each day as he becomes stronger.  We're grateful he's here with us.  He lived with several other cats and did very well.

On April 20, 2019, Pokey was very excited to meet his new family!  He will now be loved forever and lives in Fredericton with a very nice young lady and her mom.  You're a very lucky boy, Pokey!  Please send us lots of photos and tell us all about your new life!  Congratulations!!

"Theo" came to us on April 11, 2019 from the Florenceville area where he was a stray for whom no one could care.  He had been seen in the area for about two months and was known to have been eating dog food, but had no shelter or anyone to keep him safe, warm and fed.  He has been very fortunate to have survived this past winter.  Theo is feral.

Theo was live-trapped and examined by his new vet who diagnosed him with abrasions on his face and nose, his front claws were cracked and bloody and he was missing hair on his left hind leg where he had several old scars. Theo's wounds were addressed, and he was neutered and vaccinated.

On April 11, 2019, we were very fortunate to have a DunRoamin' supporter who offered his barns for Theo to live in, as he is very feral and scared.  Now he will be watched over, fed, sheltered and cared for for the rest of his life.  Thanks to all who look out for these feral cats who have such a hard life.  They are fortunate to find kind people who help.

"Cleo" came to us on August 22, 2018 from the Hartland Golf Course with her mom Mariette, brother Malcolm and sisters Ombrea and Millie.  Their mom was trying to survive by scrounging for food for her babies, but it was not a safe place with all the vehicles and wild animals in the area.  Cleo is grateful to have a nice lady offer to keep her and her family in a nice, warm, safe and loving foster home.  She dreams of her own family one day very soon.

Cleo was born about July 4, 2008.  She is very playful, likes to climb and is friendly and affectionate.  She is fully vaccinated, spayed, treated for all parasites and tested for FIV/FeLV so she has the very best chance at a good and safe life!  She'd love a permanent home, hopefully with some other cats or dogs to play with.

On April 11, 2019, Cleo got the best news of her life when she learned that she had been accepted as a permanent family member by her foster mom who couldn't even think of not having her around.  Congratulations, Cleo!  You are one very lucky little girl!  Send us photos!!

"Spy" came to us on January 31, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  He was born about June 31, 2018, so was only about seven months old.  Because Spy came from a location where Feline Leukemia had been found in other cats, he was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019.  His retest proved that he does not have Feline Leukemia. We're very happy for you!  We believe Spy is a sibling to Chess and Toes, others from the group of eighteen cats that we accepted.

Spy is extremely super-cute!  He is full of energy, love, affection and BADNESS!  He will come when called, but you had better be ready with lots of pats, cuddles and hugs, because that's what makes him happy!  Spy has one white whisker which really stands out!  All who meet him fall in love!  On March 24, 2019, Spy went to be fostered with his friend Checkers for two weeks, but long before the end of that time he had already made a decision, so . . .

. . . on April 6, 2019, Spy was adopted by his foster family (how could they say no to such love and cuteness??) so he will now live in Upper Kent forever with his family and best friend Checkers (see below) who love each other dearly.  Thanks so much to his new family.  Congratulations, Spy!!

"Scotsburn" came to us on January 31, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  He was born about January 31, 2017.  Initially, he was timid and unsure but that didn't last long!  He soon was greeting us with head butts at the door of his kennel!  As he had been living in a location where multiple cats had tested positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV), he was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019 to ensure he did not have the disease and we were all ecstatic when his tests came back negative!

Scotsburn is a beautiful pewter gray tabby who would love to have a home, especially if he could live with other cats.  He loves feline company and he's a real gentleman.  We believe he is a sibling to Klondike, Baskin and Carn who came to us at the same time.

On March 23, 2019, Scotsburn traveled to The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton where he'll be fostered until he meets that purrfect someone who will ask him to join their family.  Thanks, Purrfect Cup!!

On April 6, 2019, Scotsburn was ecstatic to learn that he had been adopted by a very nice couple from Fredericton where he'll live happily ever after.  Congratulations, Scotsburn!  Don't forget to stay in touch and send us lots of photos!  We'll miss you!

"Klondike" came to us on January 31, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  He was born about January 31, 2017 and is a real sweetheart.  As he had come from a colony of cats where Feline Leukemia (FeLV) was known to be present, he was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019.  His test revealed he was did not have Feline Leukemia! Congratulations!  We believe Klondike is a sibling to Scotsburn, Baskin and Carn (see above and below).

Klondike has medium-length black and white hair and he LOVES people!  He is a very social boy and would love to have a home where he'll get lots of human attention and it would be that much more wonderful if he had a feline friend or two also!

On March 23, 2019, Klondike was very excited to travel to The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton where he was fostered by some wonderful people.  Thanks to all our friends at The Purrfect Cup!  Please come check it out - you'll LOVE it!

On April 6, 2019, Klondike was invited to be the best friend of a young lady from Fredericton where he'll live happily every after!  Congratulations, Klondike - you made it!  Please send us photos of you and your new family!  Yay!!

"Jodie" came to us on February 4, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  She was born about February 4, 2018, so was only about a year old.  Because Jodie came from a location where Feline Leukemia had been found in other cats, she was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019 at which time we learned that she was definitely negative!  Congratulations, Jodie!

Jodie was initially timid but that lasted no time at all!  She is very loving and affectionate and would love to have a home with one or two other cats.  She was already spayed when she arrived.  She is happy to have been invited to live as a foster kitty at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton.  Please come visit her there!  The Purrfect Cup is PURRFECT!!

On April 6, 2019, Jodie was so pleased to learn that she had been invited to join the family of a couple in Fredericton where she'll have the very best home ever AND a feline brother to play and cuddle with!  Congratulations, Jodie!  Please send us lots of photos!

"Arkin" and his brother Ethan (see below) returned to us on May 11, 2018 from the Fredericton area where Arkin had become timid and not comfortable in the home.  As he was extremely attached to Ethan, Ethan came along with him.  The brothers were born about August 5, 2015, so were not quite three years old.

Arkin was initially timid upon arrival, but who wouldn't be in a strange new place?  He and Ethan cuddled together in the back of their new kennel, and soon realized that they were safe among friends.  Arkin loves to have his back scratched and he'll even purr!  He doesn't mind being picked up and cuddled, and he'd be grateful to go to a loving home - but could his brother, Ethan, go with him also?  Please??  Both cats were very happy to have the honour of being fostered at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton as of February 23, 2019.  They are so grateful to have had the love and care of The Purrfect Cup staff - they can't thank them enough - nor can we!

On April 6, 2019, Arkin was so very happy to learn that he and his brother were invited to join the home of a very nice couple in Chipman.  We are so grateful that they can stay together!  Thank you so much!  Congratulations, Ethan and Arkin!  Please don't forget to send photos and tell us all about your new life and family!

"Ethan" and his brother Arkin (see above) were returned to DunRoamin' on May 11, 2018, as Arkin had become timid and uncomfortable in his home.  Since Ethan was his best friend, he came back with him to provide comfort and companionship.  Ethan and Arkin were born about August 5, 2015.

Ethan has beautiful long fur and is very cuddly and affectionate.  He is very good to his brother, Arkin, and provided comfort for him while he acclimatized to their new home.  Both boys enjoy pats, cuddling and conversation.  They particularly enjoy humans who like to cuddle and pat them!  They would like to have a new home together if at all possible - they'd miss each other terribly!  Arkin has become much more comfortable and thanks his brother and all his DunRoamin' friends for making him a happy and relaxed little boy!  He can't wait to have a family he can share with his brother!

Both cats were very happy to have the honour of being fostered at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton as of February 23, 2019 where they met many wonderful people and were spoiled (as they should be!) by the amazing staff of The Purrfect Cup.

On April 6, 2019, Ethan was overwhelmed with joy to learn that he and his brother Arkin were both adopted to a wonderful home in Chipman.  They are over the moon with happiness, and so are we!  Thanks so much to the wonderful couple who have chosen these beautiful brothers to join their family.  Congratulations to everyone!!

"Gia" came to us on September 12, 2018 from Cloverdale (near Hartland, NB), where she was part of a colony of 70 cats that was being cared for by a gentleman who found he was unable to continue to do so.  As they were breeding unchecked, he requested help to ensure the colony would not become larger and not be able to sustain itself.  Winter was coming and soon both food and shelter would be scarce.  In addition, there were too many dangers for these cats to face - starvation, freezing temperatures, predators, illness, injury, etc.  They needed help.

Gia was accepted by DunRoamin' - she was only a baby, born about May 27, 2018.  She was healthy, but had ear mites which were treated.  She was very timid.  Gia was so very fortunate to be fostered by a DunRoamin' supporter and volunteer, so she, Starling and Joelle, also from the same Cloverdale colony were fostered together while they became socialized, loving and trusting.  We'd like to thank Sandy for all her help with these little ones.  Gia and her friends Starling and Joelle are all up to date on their vaccines, have been spayed, tested for FIV and FeLV, treated for parasites and are anxious to begin their new lives with a loving family.

Gia was very grateful and happy to be fostered at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton where she was cared for by loving staff and met many nice people. She and all her friends would  like to thank Korey, Shonna and all the staff of The Purrfect Cup for this wonderful opportunity to live in such a great place and meet so many nice people.

On April 4, 2019, Gia was so very excited to learn that she was adopted by the same lady who adopted her friend Starling on January 29, 2019.  Starling and Gia are now reunited where they'll live together happily and be cared for as they have always dreamed.  Thanks to your new mom for everything!  Don't forget to stay in touch - DunRoamin' and your friends at The Purrfect Cup will all miss you!  Congratulations!

"Bowie"  came back to us on June 28, 2018.  He originally became DunRoamin' on Valentine's Day, 2017 when he came from the Perth-Andover area where he had been trapped in a vacant house for at least several days.  It took his rescuer quite some time to convince him that he would be safe and loved if he came with her.  He is a handsome and wildly affectionate little boy who loves everyone he meets and eagerly greets newcomers with loving head butts.  He was born about July 29, 2015.

Bowie was diagnosed with a condition which requires him to eat Royal Canin Urinary S/O food only.  This is nothing serious at all - he just requires a special diet to ensure his ureter does not become blocked.  He also had an upper respiratory infection, but he was quickly well over that.  Bowie was also diagnosed with a cataract in his right eye which was treated.  He has a slight mark on his cornea, but he's just fine.  He also had an inflamed bladder wall, but had no bladder stones, which is a good thing.  He was treated with fluids, pain medication and antibiotics, as well as supplements to soothe his bladder and as long as he eats his prescription food, he's perfectly fine!  Bowie was adopted on January 3, 2018 to a home in Moncton, but came back to us when his family had to move into an apartment that would not allow pets.

Bowie is a beautiful little boy who would like nothing better than to have a permanent family where he can live out the rest of his life.  As of January 4, 2019, he is a foster home and hopes it might be permanent!

On March 30, 2019, Bowie was SOOOOO happy to learn that he would never have to leave his foster home!  He's now a permanent resident, and he so loves his human family and his best friend Hakuna, also a DunRoamin' cat!  Congratulations, Bowie!  Thanks to your family for making you a permanent member!

"Charlene" came to us on July 17, 2018 from Cloverdale where she was a member of a colony of cats who numbered approximately 70.  A kind gentleman was trying to care for them, but it was a huge undertaking.  Because they were not spayed or neutered, their number continued to increase exponentially.  Charlene and her siblings Carter, Lainey and Walker were born about April 17, 2018.

Charlene is black with a bit of white on her chest.  She was skittish at first but has come a long way.  She is still shy and isn't a cuddler, but makes up for it in attitude!  She perhaps might like to be adopted along with one of her siblings, or at least go to a home with another cat (or two!)  She loves playing with her toys and is a great pouncer!   If you aren't giving her treats fast enough or have left her alone without company, she is quick to let out a loud "meow" of annoyance!  She loves other cats, especially her large foster brothers.  She is still a bit wary of dogs, but her foster family is working on that.  Thanks for fostering these beautiful cats!

On March 27, 2019, we were so very happy to learn that Charlene's foster mother decided that since she was so comfortable in her home, she should stay!  She is still a bit timid, but loves her home and family, so she couldn't possibly ask her to move again!  Thank you SO much for taking such great care of this little girl and for making her part of such a great family!

"Checker" came to us on January 31, 2019 from the NB SPCA.  She was born about July 31, 2017, so is about two years old.  Because Checker came from a location where Feline Leukemia had been found in other cats, she was segregated and retested on March 18, 2019 at which time her test came back negative - she's perfectly fine!

Checker is a very social little being who loves people and loves to play.  She will chase a ball for hours and her favourite playmate is Spy, who is as active, loving and playful as she is!  Checker also loves to head butt and to cuddle.  If you're looking for someone who is completely interactive and enjoys people and other cats, she's your girl!

On March 24, 2019, Checker was elated to learn that she had been invited to join the family of a young couple in Upper Kent where she'll be the best friend of them and their three-year-old daughter.  Her friend, Spy, went along also to keep her company as a foster kitty - he's hoping he gets to stay!!  Congratulations, Checker!  Send us photos!  We can't wait to see how much you love your new home and family!

"Wishart" came to DunRoamin' on the morning of November 15, 2018 from the Connell area.  She had been laying outside a door and the homeowner had thought she was deceased, but requested help in case she was not.  A DunRoamin' volunteer arrived a few minutes later to find that she had been startled by a door opening and had run off.  Food and a soft warm bed were placed in a carrier where she had been laying and just a few minutes later she returned.  Although terrified, she knew she required sustenance and warmth.  She stared at the food from a short distance and meowed loudly and pitifully at it.  Her extreme hunger allowed her to be lured into the carrier containing the food and she was quickly taken to medical assistance.

Wishart was immediately examined by her new best vet friend upon her arrival at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  She was determined to have been born about May 15, 2017 and was very thin, cold, dehydrated and had a poor body condition.  All of these things were rectified by her new friends at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and she is grateful to be warm, safe and have a soft bed to sleep on and warm food in her belly - it certainly beats the circumstances in which she's been living, especially with the cold, wet weather we've recently endured.  She thanks her rescuers for noticing her and requesting help for her.  We also thank her rescuers for their generous donation toward her medical requirements.

UPDATE:  Only two days later and LOOK AT ME!  I am warm, safe, have food in my belly and these new people are SO nice to me!  They tell me that someone might want to make me part of their family one day where I can stay inside and be safe and loved!  I can't wait!!

On February 9, 2019, Wishart attended The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton where she spends time with all her visitors while she awaits a loving home.  We'd like to thank The Purrfect Cup for their generosity and support!

On March 23, 2019, Wishart's dreams came true when she was adopted by a very nice couple from Mazerolle Settlement.  She'll now have two young kids of her very own!  Congratulations, Wishart!  Dreams DO come true!  Send photos so we can watch you grow up with your new family!  Thanks again to The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe for making it possible for your new family to meet you!

"Gibbs" came to us on April 13, 2018 from the Arthurette area where he had been a stray for quite some time.  He was being fed, but his benefactor was unable to catch him.  On this day, Gibbs appeared with injuries and was able to be caught as a result - he wasn't in good shape.

Gibbs's veterinary examination revealed that he had fleas, ear mites, was missing an upper canine and had several broken canine teeth.  Those would be very painful for him, but his more serious injuries had most probably been inflicted by an animal.  He had open wounds at the base of his left ear and the left side of his neck, as well as a large abscess on the right side of his neck.  Both these injuries required much medical care, including sutures and antibiotics.

Gibbs was born about April 12, 2010, so was about eight years old.  It's about time he had a safe home and a loving family to care for him.  He's doing well with us and has become much more comfortable with his human servants.  He's received the best of medical care and lots of love.  He's almost 100% comfortable around us, so he's come a long way in a short time - he deserves a warm family.  If you love big ol' tomcats, he's your boy!

On March 20, 2019, Gibbs met a young lady from Fredericton and won her heart with his quiet demeanor and loud purr!  He now lives with her in Fredericton with his new buddy Nascat (see below).  Congratulations to the entire family!  Thanks so much for giving them such a great home.  Please send lots of photos!

"Nascat" returned to DunRoamin' on December 20, 2018 from Smithfield where he had been adopted in January of this year.  He had originally come to a shelter with a broken pelvis and a tail jerk injury, no doubt due to having an altercation with a vehicle.  He was found on the side of the road unable to walk.  He was also unable to pee on his own.  As the shelter was unable to undergo his care, he came to us where his new vet friend went to work and produced amazing results.  Although his bladder had to expressed for the first few months, Nascat soon was back to great shape!  After he was adopted, he began to enjoy too many snacks and began to poop inappropriately so was then returned to us.  He has been examined by our vet to determine the cause and treatment but nothing has become apparent as he has shown no problems since being placed on his feline diet.  He uses the litter box perfectly and loves to play with other cats.  Nascat was born about January 2, 2012 and is a real sweetheart!  He loves people and loves attention!

Nascat particularly loved his exercise wheel which he used frequently and he loves toys and play.  He is happy to be around other cats and other people. He has a very unique and loving personality, and those beautiful eyes will get you every time!

On February 9, 2019, Nascat travelled to Fredericton where he was hosted by his friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe while he awaited that purrfect family to join.

On March 20, 2019, Nascat's wait was over!  He was officially adopted into the home of a young lady from Fredericton who was enthralled with his wit and personality from the moment she met him.  And guess what??  Gibbs (see above) got to go with him!  Congratulations to the entire family!  Write soon and tell us about your new life!!  Nascat would like to thank his friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton for taking such good care of him and helping him find a wonderful family!

"Ava" came back to DunRoamin' on May 2, 2017 as her family was moving and not able to take her with them.  She had originally come to us on April 29, 2010 from Mount Pleasant, NB, where she was found on the side of the road by a lady who was delivering mail.  The skin on and around Ava's nose had been torn off, she had fleas, was cold, thin, and dehydrated.  It appeared she had been thrown from a car.  Ava was born about February 1, 2010, so she was just a baby.  She was adopted to a home in May, 2010, where she enjoyed the company of several other cats and a small dog.

Ava likes to be petted and she's very affectionate once she gets to know you!  She is lovable and has a great personality.  She gets along very well with the many other cats with whom she lives and is doing well with us at DunRoamin, but would really enjoy a home and family of her very own - especially if the home had another cat and maybe even a small dog or two!  She is prescribed a Royal Canin Dental diet due to dental issues she had encountered but she's doing just fine on this diet - she loves it!

On March 18, 2019, Ava met a very nice lady from Florenceville who decided she'd be the perfect addition to her family.  She joins Grace, another cat who has been lonely since her best feline friend passed away recently, so Ava will be the perfect companion.  Congratulations, Ava!  Please send us photos and let us know how well your new life suits you!  You've got+ it made!

"Sleigh" came to us on December 22, 2017 from Jacksonville where she and Douglas Furr (who has since been adopted to a wonderful home), whom we believe may be her son, had been living under a deck for at least two months.  A lady was giving them food but could not provide shelter, a home or the medical care she required and the temperatures were cold - at least -25*C.  Sleigh was born about December 22, 2009.

Sleigh was diagnosed with several issues:  she had tapeworms, her upper left canine tooth was fractured and she exhibited tartar and gingivitis on her other teeth.  She had marked sinusitis and purulent nasal discharge due to a bad upper respiratory infection.  She also was full of fleas and had never been spayed.  And to add to that long list, she had otitis (inflammation) and a polyp in her left ear.  We thought this might require surgery to remove, but she was prescribed medication that took very good care care of it.  She tested negative for both FIV and FeLV.  She is a very fortunate little girl to receive help.  At the age of eight years, she deserves a much better life than what it appears she has experienced to date.

Sleigh is friendly, very affectionate and grateful for all the help she has received.  She purrs and kneads in her warm, safe, soft bed and eagerly tucks into all food provided.  She has a lovely personality and can't wait to continue her journey to a loving home.  She has been spayed and her vaccines are completely up to date.  Her best wish is for a loving family who will care for her so the rest of her life can be what she deserves.  She is very grateful for her friends with whom she shared a room:  Barlow, Grimsby, Ethan, Arkin and Malachi.  On December 15, 2018, Sleigh moved to Fredericton where she was fostered by two young ladies who fell immediately in love with her.  Congratulations, Sleigh!  Enjoy your new foster home!

On March 16, 2019, Sleigh got the best news of her life!  She has officially been adopted into her loving family!!  Yahoooo!  As you can see in the photos to the left, she is very comfortable and loved in her new home.  Congratulations, Sleigh, you've got it made forever now!  Thanks to your new family for all they've done for you!   Please keep sending photos - we love to see how very well you're doing!

"Talulah" came from the Woodstock area on January 27, 2019 where she was a stray who had been hanging around the area for about three months, but no one would take her in or give her shelter.  Our weather has been terribly cold for the past several weeks with temperatures well below -20*C with blowing snow and freezing rain.  Without help, she would not survive.  As no one could bring her for help, a volunteer attended and delivered her to the warmth, safety and care of her new home and family at DunRoamin'.  She was born about July 27, 2017.

Talulah was found to be relatively healthy.  She was immediately spayed, vaccinated and treated for parasites, as are all DunRoamin' cats to ensure their health and comfort.  She was very grateful for the assistance, warm bed and plentiful food.

On March 16, 2019, Talulah was adopted by a very nice lady from Upper Knoxford where she'll be spoiled like she should be - you've got it made now, Talulah!  When she was put in her kennel for travel to her new home, she laid down quietly as if to say, "What's taking so long?  Let's go!  I'm going home now!"  Congratulations, Talulah!  Write soon!

"Gnome" came to DunRoamin' on January 4, 2019 from Knoxford where he had been found, meowing loudly, in a snowbank beside a mailbox.  He was examined by his new best vet friend at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and found to be dehydrated, cold, emaciated and starving.  He was given fluids and medication as well as a nice warm bed and some nutritious food.  He ate very well, and drank lots of water.

Gnome's hydration has greatly improved.  He shows his gratitude by purring and head butting - he's very social and grateful.  He was born about July 4, 2018.  He had some troubles with diarrhea, but his vet has been taking great care of him and he's doing well.  He is a beautiful (and lucky!) little boy.

On March 16, 2019, Gnome was so happy to learn that he had been adopted by a very nice young couple from Centreville.  Now known as Felix, he'll live there where he'll get all the love, attention, play and everything else he requires - and more!  Thanks so much for giving this beautiful little boy a loving home.  Write soon, Felix!

"Seven" came to us on March 20, 2017 from Northampton where she was part of the DunRoamin'/PetSmart Charities Woodstock Community Cat program established to help spay and neuter unowned cats to prevent the birth of more cats who would easily become sick, injured and homeless - there are already way too many who have no one to help them.  Seven was born about March 20, 2016.

Seven was pregnant and had ear mites, as well as several infected wounds on her stomach and chest.  These guys have not been in a safe environment, and it was definitely not safe for her to go back.  As we were her only chance for health care and  a better life which she deserves (as they all do!), she was accepted by DunRoamin'.  She was treated for her injuries, spayed, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and now receives all the love and care we can possibly provide.  Her injuries are healed and she's grateful for the warm, safe bed, nutritious food and her friends who keep her company.  She would like to have a home with at least one other cat - she enjoys the companionship of feline friends!

On March 15, 2019, Seven hit the jackpot when a very nice lady from Jacksonville chose her to join her friend Cyprus as the newest members of her family.  We are so glad you get to live with Cyprus - you love each other!  Please don't forget to write and send us photos - we'll all miss you!

"Cyprus" came to DunRoamin' on April 17, 2016 from the Woodstock area where she was a stray with three little babies, Asia, Token and Knight, all of whom have been adopted.  Her babies, only about five weeks old, had been found all alone a few days previously but Cyprus could not be located.  After three days, she was found trapped in the duct work of a building.  She had apparently been there for at least three days without food or water.

Cyprus was cared for and reunited with her babies.  She was timid and scared of us at first, but it's been all great from there!  She was born about April 18, 2013

On March 15, 2019, Cyprus was chosen by a very nice lady to have her join her family in Jacksonville.  Cyprus had chosen her at first sight, and after learning about her best friend, Seven (see above), she decided that the two should not be parted, so they were both adopted by this wonderful person!  Thank you SO much for giving these two beauties a home!  Please write soon and send lots of photos - we'll miss you both and can't wait to hear how you're doing!

"Caleb" was dropped at DunRoamin' on March 7, 2019 after having entered a home in the Greenfield area where no one could take care of him.  Our days and nights have been extremely cold of late and he was grateful to be accepted into a warm kennel with lots of food.  He is extremely friendly, in very good shape and is already neutered, so he most likely belonged to someone.  We will take good care of him - hopefully his family comes looking for him very soon.  Otherwise, he's anxious to be in a warm, safe and permanent environment.

Caleb was examined by his new vet to ensure he was in good physical condition, which he was.  On March 15, 2019, Caleb began his intake routine which included vaccines, FIV and FeLV testing.  He is a beautiful boy who loves people.

On March 15, 2019, Caleb was adopted by a very nice couple from Monquart where he will live safely indoors and be the light of their life.  He will be spoiled as much as is humanly possible, and he promises the same to his new family - he loves them!!  Congratulations to all!

"Huxley" returned to us on January 29, 2019.  He originally was found screaming on a porch in the Hartland area, and was brought for help on April 4, 2011.  He had terrible diarrhea, was starving and very thin, had ear mites, worms, fleas, frostbite on his ears and wounds on his hind quarters where it appeared he had been attacked by an animal.  He was not even a year old, and had already experienced far too much trauma for any youngster. He was born about May 1, 2010.  On July 4, 2011, Huxley was adopted by a family in Bath.  Unfortunately, they could no longer keep him so he came back to us to find a new home.

Huxley was examined by his new best vet friend and found to be healthy with waxy ears and a little bit of tartar on his teeth.  He will need a bit of dental care in April.  He is vaccinated and is settling in well.   We'll keep you up to date on this beautiful little guy.

On March 15, 2019, Huxley was adopted by a couple in Bath where he'll live happily ever after.  Congratulations, Huxley.  You're right where you're supposed to be!

"Malachi" came to us on June 14, 2018 from the Woodstock area.  He was born about June 14, 2013 and was a stray who had been coming to a home for food for about the past four years but could not be caught as he was timid of humans.   He had been observed about a month ago with an injury to his right hind quarter and had finally been able to be approached, probably because he was in such bad shape.

Malachi's new vet friend determined that he was missing a right canine tooth and another was fractured, so they were removed when he became healthy enough.  He was not neutered and had multiple severely-infected wounds on his right hind hip and the top of his front feet which had been there long enough to become very badly infected.  He was extremely thin, dehydrated and had a fever.  He also was anemic.  Due to the severity of his injuries, he had marked decreased range of motion in his right hip.  He has received the best of medical care and is doing exceptionally well!  He was on antibiotics, pain medication and IV fluids to help him recover, but that's all done with now!  There initially was a possibility that he might have to lose his right hind leg due to the severity of his injuries, but with the excellent care he received at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic, he's perfectly fine now!

Malachi is a beautiful, friendly little boy who is completely up to date on his vaccines, neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV and he's ready to start a new life!  He loves attention, pats and particularly likes to have his back scratched!

On February 23, 2019, Malachi was honoured to become a foster kitty at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton with his friends Ethan, Arkin, Grimsby, Nascat, Wishart and Gia who were also fostered there.  Please drop in and meet them.  You'll love the cafe!

On March 9, 2019, Malachi was elated to learn that he would join the family of a lady in Fredericton where he'll be spoiled beyond his wildest dreams!  He has been registered for Trupanion Pet Insurance to ensure he has the best of medical care for the rest of his life.  Congratulations to you and your new mom!  Send lots of photos!

"Jennifurr" came to us on January 28, 2019 from the Perth-Andover area where she had been hanging around a place for some time.  Although our mandate is for sick, injured, abused or neglected animals, she was left in a cardboard box with us.  Jennifurr was born about September 28, 2018.  She happily accepted food and water and has obviously been someone's pet since she is so familiar with humans.

Jennifer was spayed, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for all parasites.  She was very anxious to start her new life with a family who would love and care for her forever, and . . .

. . . on March 9, 2019, she joined the family of an exceptionally nice gentleman in Fredericton who has been family for a DunRoamin' dog and several DunRoamin' cats.  We're very happy that you have the opportunity to be part of such a wonderful home.  Congratulations to you and your new family!  Be good, Jennifurr!  Write soon!

"Waffles" originally came to us from Florenceville on June 29, 2018 where his urinary tract had blocked and his family was unable to undertake the care for his recovery.  His vet and new best friend was quick to put him back on the road to recovery and he's been just fine ever since.

Waffles must eat Royal Canin Urinary S/O food ONLY for the rest of his life (it prevents him from blocking, which he is prone to do).  Should he eat anything other than S/O food, he will most probably experience problems, but we have had dozens of cats who eat Royal Canin Urinary S/O and there has never been a problem if they remain on this food.  Waffles was born about November 1, 2012 and is a Sweetheart with a Capital "S."

Waffles was a bit overweight but it didn't take long to remedy that.  He is otherwise fine as long as he eats his prescription food.  He is loving, friendly and affectionate - and he loves his best friend Sheldon.  It would be wonderful if they could both go to a home together.

On March 8, 2019, Waffles hit the jackpot when a lady from Bristol chose him as the newest family member for her and her daughter.  Aaaaand . . . Sheldon went along as a foster kitty!  Congratulations to all!  Write soon!

Meet "Shakespurr."  Shakespurr came to us on January 22, 2019 from the Aroostook area where he was a stray who had been staying under a vehicle during these cold nights with temperatures hovering well below -20*C.  We'd had a great storm with more than a foot of snow and he had had no shelter and no one to help him survive this terribly cold weather.

Shakespurr was picked up by a volunteer, brought to DunRoamin' and was immediately examined by his new vet who determined that he had been born about March 22, 2018, so was still way too young to be trying to survive all alone - no one should have to do that at any age!  He had fleas and dirty ears, but was in good condition otherwise.  He had not been neutered, but he is now, as well as being vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for his parasites.

Shakespurr is happy to be safe, warm and loved and so far has spent most of his time with us sleeping, purring, head butting and cuddling - now THAT'S gratitude!  This certainly beats sleeping in the cold!  He is exceptionally friendly and affectionate, so he's been around people before.  We're happy to have him around us.  He thanks the neighbour who made a donation to help with his care.

On March 7, 2019, Shakespurr met a very nice lady from Fredericton who fell in love with him.  He now lives with her.  What a wonderful life you'll have, Shakespurr!  Congratulations!  Don't forget to send pictures and lots of stories about your new life!!

"Rockfurred" came to us from the Florenceville area on the morning of October 16, 2018.  She had been found approximately four days earlier and had been doing okay, but had suddenly taken a turn for the worse and her rescuer was unable to help her any further.  Rockfurred was born about August 28, 2018 and weighed only 337 grams.  She was very, very tiny, dehydrated, lethargic, had a slow heart rate and her temperature was only 32.5*C - it should have been closer to 39*C.  She also had ulcers on the roof of her mouth.  She is fortunate to have received the medical care she so badly needed.

Rockfurred was given warm subcutaneous fluids and, once warmed up, was given some nutritious food and kitten milk replacer to help give her some of the nutrition that her mom would have normally provided.  She was soon sitting and standing, becoming more alert and eating a bit on her own.  However, in the next few hours she took a very bad turn for the worse and would not have made it, but fortunately her vet was there to save her in the wee hours of the morning and it looks like she will now be fine.  Thanks, Dr Monteith.

Rockfurred was prescribed medication to help her become strong again, was fed every three hours around the clock and had a very toasty warm bed to ensure she was warm and comfortable.  She also started to put on some weight as she grew.  She knows how fortunate she is and shows her gratitude at every opportunity.  She loves to purr, but you really have to listen to hear it!  She spends her days playing and cuddling with her new friend Fisher (see below) and if at all possible she'd love to be adopted with him to a new home and family.  They love each other!

On March 6, 2019, her dream came true when a very nice lady from Fredericton fell in love with her.  She now lives with her new family which includes a cat and dog AND FISHER!  Congratulations, everyone!

"Fisher" came to us from Florenceville on October 19, 2017 when he was found all alone in a pile of leaves outside a door.  His temperature was only 36.8*C and he weighed just 244 grams.  He was born about September 12, 2018 and should have been much larger than this.  He'll get the help he needs now, though!

Fisher was fostered in Florenceville along with his new friend Rockfurred (see above).  They quickly became fast friends and loved to play and curl up for a long well-deserved nap together.  Fisher required antibiotics, IV fluids and received any and all other assistance he needed to become strong again.  He also battled bloody diarrhea, but his medical care fixed that!  He was fed every three hours around the clock and has put on weight, as he should.  He's purrfect!

Fisher is a loving little guy who loves to purr and cuddle.  He particularly liked to sleep in your hand if you'd let him - he was not too large yet, but he soon grew big and strong.  He thinks he'd like to be adopted to a home that would also welcome his best friend Rockfurred (see above), if at all possible.  He thanks Marian for fostering him and his very best friend Rockfurred - it made all the difference!

On March 6, 2019, a lady drove from Fredericton to meet him and . . . YEA!!  He and his very best friend Rockfurred (see above) now live with her and her family!  Best day EVER!  Congratulations to everyone.  Please send photos and updates - we'll all miss your kitten antics!

"Lodi" came to us from the Cloverdale colony (near Hartland, NB) on September 19, 2018.  She was one of almost 70 cats who were rescued, spayed/neutered and moved into homes as there was no longer anyone to care for them at their current location and they were breeding out of control.  Lodi was timid, but content  to receive food and even allowed us to pat her once she realized all was well and that she was safe.  Lodi lived with Joelle and Gia as well as several other kittens and she loves the comfort her friends provide.

Lodi has come a very long way in the time she's been with us.  She has learned trust and acceptance of her human servants and would like to have a home with some of them - she loves Joelle.   She was born about May 20, 2018.  Her favourite toy is a laser light that she will chase as long as you'll play with her!  She would like to be adopted with another cat or kitten as, although she's playful and loving, she finds comfort in having another of her own species with whom to sleep, play and cuddle.  Lodi was very fortunate to be fostered at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton along with several of her friends where . . .

. . . on February 23, 2019, Lodi was adopted by a very nice lady from Taymouth and as an additional joy for Lodi, her friend Joelle was also adopted along with her!  Lodi and Joelle will also have a young boy for company and to grow up with.  Congratulations to all!

"Joelle" came to us from the Cloverdale colony (near Hartland, NB) on August 29, 2018.  She was born about June 7, 2018, so was not yet three months old.  She was timid, but not feral, so she had an excellent chance at living in a home with a loving family.  She was one of almost 70 cats who were no longer able to be cared for in that location, so all were spayed/neutered and re-homed.  Joelle is healthy and is now spayed, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for all parasites.  She's ready for a home!

Joelle is very fortunate to have been brought to DunRoamin' where her life has been changed forever.  Instead of trying to survive in a colony of cats where she would not be vaccinated against disease, instead of having litter after litter of kittens who may or may not survive to have a life of their own, instead of struggling for food and shelter among 70 other cats, instead of being at risk from predators, vehicles and many other threats, she will now have a life of warmth, safety, companionship, never-ending food and never-ending love.  How great is that?   She thanks the two gentlemen who cared for her and helped make it possible for her to have this new life.  She's become very social with her humans and cat friends at DunRoamin'.  She particularly likes her exercise wheel and her laser light - she'll play all day! She'd be happiest if she could be adopted with one other kitten, or if there would already be a cat in her new home with whom she could play, cuddle and sleep.  Joelle is very grateful to be fostered with her friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, NB.  Thank you so much!  Please visit the cafe - you'll LOVE it!

On February 23, 2019, Joelle's wishes and dreams came true when she and her friend Lodi were adopted by a very nice lady and her young son from Taymouth.  They'll all live very happily ever after!  We look forward to photos and updates as you grow!  Congratulations to you and your new family!

"Isaac" came to us on March 20, 2017 from the Woodstock area.  He had been out all night and was found early the next morning with injuries likely sustained from being struck by a vehicle.  His owners were unable to undergo his care.  Isaac was born about March 20, 2014.

Isaac had no apparent fractures but was subsequently diagnosed with a possible spinal injury.  He was prescribed pain medication and underwent laser treatment to help him recover.  He is a sweet boy and he was soon much brighter and eating like a little piggy and was much happier.  He's a very nice boy who can't wait to have a home of his very own where he can live inside where he can remain safe and sound.  He loves his diet of Royal Canin Hypo-Allergenic food which he must eat for his entire life so that he does not become itchy.  Please come meet Isaac in his new digs.  He loves it there!!  One thing of importance to note:  Isaac does NOT enjoy dogs, so he'd like to have a home with humans and cats only, please.

On February 20, 2019, a lady journeyed all the way from Burtt's Corner to meet the newest love of her life.  Isaac won her over quickly and easily, and he now lives permanently with her and her young son who has been wishing for a cat forever!  Congratulations, Isaac.  You've got the perfect family!

"Aretha" came to us on October 10, 2018 from Gordonsville where she and her friend Aubree (see below) had been found beside some garbage cans all alone.  They were far too young to travel, so perhaps they had been dropped there.  As they were not the same age, they were not related, but they are obviously bonded.  Both were cold, hungry and needed help.  Aretha was born about September 2, 2018 and weighed only eight ounces.  She is quite far behind her friend in growth, but she was soon well on her way to catching up.

Examination by her new vet revealed that she was hypothermic (very cold) as her temperature was only 34*C.  She also had a low heart rate and was lethargic.  Aretha was provided with a large flow of very warm air and all medical necessities and was soon eating a bit.  She was fostered by her new vet to ensure she had all the medical care she required.  Thanks, Dr Haines.  Aretha is not at all shy of dogs, as evidenced in this photo!  She considers them her best friends (after Aubree, of course!!)  Aretha and Aubree were fostered by a wonderful supporter in Meductic where they enjoyed the company of several other DunRoamin' cats and even a couple of dogs whom they love!

On February 20, 2019, Aretha was adopted by a wonderful couple from Waterville.  And guess what??  Aubree got to go, too!!!  YES!!!  Thank you!  We know that you'll have the best life possible now!  Congratulations!  Please remember to send photos.  We'd love to see you as you grow!

"Aubree" came to us along with her friend Aretha (see above) on October 10, 2018 from Gordonsville where they were found beside some garbage cans early in the morning.  Aubree was born about September 18, 2018.  She was a little round furry ball!  Aubree weighed just one pound on her arrival and was relatively healthy, although cold and scared.  Once she was warmed up and had some food in her belly, she made her gratitude known by yelling at the top of her voice!  She's very grateful to be safe.  She thanks Dr Haines for her medical care and for fostering her and her friend Aretha to ensure they had the best start possible for their new life.  They were then fostered by a wonderful supporter in Meductic where they learned that they love dogs!  Aubree even climbs onto her new canine friend, Miller's, back!  Thanks for taking them into your family!

Aubree is very playful and cuddly.  She loves Aretha and they'd really love to go to a home together and they're completely healthy, fully vaccinated, spayed and tested for FIV and FeLV.  If you're looking for two of the cutest, most loving kiddens ever, they're your girls!!

On February 20, 2019, Aubree received some wonderful news.  Both she and her friend Aretha had been invited to join the family of a wonderful couple in Waterville.  You'll have that wonderful life of which you dreamed before being rescued four months earlier.  We've very happy for both of you!  Send photos!!

"Caspurr" came to us as an SPCA rescue on November 13, 2018.  Born about September 18, 2018, he was not in good shape.  He had been closed in a room by himself and was starving, thirsty and covered in a huge number of fleas.  He was extremely weak and also had ear mites.  When given food and water, he immediately dived into the water and drank for a very long time.  He was so weak that he couldn't eat at first, but once he was rehydrated and the fleas were dead, he felt better.  He was placed on aggressive antibiotics and fluid therapy and was fed by syringe around the clock as he was losing more weight that he could not afford to lose.  He also developed diarrhea as he had contracted a disease from the infected fleas and was extremely anemic.

Thanks to the intensive medical intervention he received from his new vet friend and vet tech foster mother, he eventually felt better, began to eat on his own and even played a little!  That was a huge event!!  He continues to do a little better each day, but it's a slow road.  Once he's better and his immune system is stronger, he'll be neutered and hopefully will be well enough to receive full vaccines.  In the meantime, he has the best care and the most love he could possibly receive.

On February 14, 1019, Caspurr received his first (and what will always be the very best!) Valentine's Day gift of his life when he was officially welcomed as a permanent family member.  We are all so grateful to his vet tech mother who ensured that he received the very best of care.  He loves playing with his foster brothers and sisters and he is becoming independent and feisty as he gets stronger!  When he stops playing long enough to eat, he eats with gusto - he's making up for all that lost time!  Congratulations, Caspurr - you made it!  And we are all so grateful!

"Heath" came to us on December 5, 2018 from Beechwood where he was a stray who was hanging around for some time.  A kind lady noticed that he had duct tape on his tail and proceeded to live trap him to get him help.

Heath was examined by his new vet who learned that he had several scabs on his face and ears, healing fight wounds on his body and duct tape wrapped several times around his tail.  Fortunately, there were no lesions associated with this and his tail appears to be fully functional.  We're not sure why anyone would do this, but he's very happy to have it removed.  And now he's safe.  And loved.  And cared for.  And he gives it back in spades!

Heath was initially scared, but once he realized that he was safe, he showed his true personality - warm, friendly, affectionate and grateful.  He has obviously belonged to someone before, but he's happy to be safe with us.  He was born about December 5, 2017.  You're safe now, Big Guy!  What a great Christmas present for you!  Thanks from all of us go to your rescuer!  Heath is an extremely laid-back long-haired boy.  His perfect day is to cuddle ALL DAY LONG!  Please drop in to The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe and meet this beautiful boy!

On February 9, 2019, Heath was adopted by a young gentleman from Fredericton where he'll be his new best friend.  He is grateful for a new family and we're grateful to his adopter for giving him this opportunity.  Congratulations, Heath!  Send lots of pictures!!

"Picatso" came to us on August 22, 2018 from Mainstream, NB where he had a history of blocking and his family could not provide required care for him.  He was born about August 22, 2008 and was already neutered.

Picatso required surgery on August 23, 2018 to remove his penis as a blockage prevented urine from leaving his body.  He's very fortunate to have this assistance and is grateful to his new vet friend for the immediate and precise care he received.  He was very soon purring in relief.  Picatso tested negative for FIV and FeLV and has completed his routine vaccine protocol.  He requires a special diet of Royal Canin Urinary S/O food to ensure he does not block again, but that's all!  We have had dozens of cats on this diet and as long as they stick with it, there has never been a recurrence.  We're glad to be able to help him - he's a very nice boy.  Picatso is extremely affectionate and loves both cats and people.  He would like to go to a home either with lots of humans for company or another cat or two!

UPDATE:  as of August 31, 2018, Picatso is doing well, is vaccinated and is ready for a home.   He will need to eat Royal Canin Urinary S/O food only, but that will ensure he will not block again.

On February 9, 2019, Picatso was SO happy to learn that he now had a family of his very own who would love him forever!  He was grateful to join Esau (adopted on December 24, 2018) in his new home in Fredericton.  We'd like to thank his new mom for giving him such a great home. Congratulations to all!

"Klein," his brother Zephyr and sisters Chapin and Burr came to us on September 17, 2018 from Cloverdale, near Hartland, NB where they were a part of a colony of approximately 70 cats who were breeding unchecked.  Having started from just two cats who had been dropped at this location, their numbers increased exponentially over a very short time.  There would soon be no food, little shelter and the harsh winter months would soon be upon them.  A gentleman asked for help with spaying and neutering them and finding them new homes.

Klein was born about May 17, 2018 and is very social as he has been socialized by humans since birth.  The majority of his friends and family are feral, so were spayed and neutered and placed in warm barns where they will live out their lives in much more comfort under the watchful eye of their new owners.

Klein has been neutered, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for parasites.  He's anxious to go to a family soon - he's been dreaming of that for quite some time!  He's very friendly and affectionate.  He also wouldn't mind having a dog in his new family - he loved his small canine foster sister!!  He is grateful to his friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton for fostering him and allowing him to meet so many new people!

On February 9, 2019, Klein was adopted by a very nice lady where he'll be a new friend for her and her two young children.  And he'll have a new feline friend very soon, too!  Congratulations, Klein!  And the same to your new family!

"Fame" came to us on the morning of October 12, 2018.  When our Stray Caretaker arrived at work, he found a tote and inside were Fame and her three kittens, Fortune, Hakuna and Matata.  They were cold, scared and covered in urine and feces - they had most probably been left there since early evening the night before (after we were closed) and it was a very cool night.  Fame was born about January 12, 2018.

All were cleaned, warmed up, fed and examined by our veterinarian to ensure their health. They then received the care they required, including, and most importantly, spays and neuters as well as full vaccines, tests for FIV and FeLV and parasite control.

These kittens are the result of still more unspayed/unneutered pets.  Had Fame been spayed or had her kittens' father(s) been neutered, these kittens would not have added to the already-too-large number of homeless pets for whom no one is able or willing to care.  Fame was the 208th cat we had accepted so far in 2018 and her kittens bring our total to 211, including 124 sick/injured/abused/neglected cats and dogs in only the past 133 days.  With such a huge influx in such a small amount of time, our resources were at an all-time critical low.

Fame is a beautiful little girl who lives with multiple other cats with whom she gets along very well.  She loves to play with laser lights, is very attentive and loving.  She is very outgoing and would love to have her own family to love and care for her for the rest of her life.  We'd like to thank our friends at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton where she and several of her friends were fostered and met their new families.

On February 9, 2019, Fame was ecstatic to be adopted by a very kind lady from Fredericton where she'll be her very best new friend!  Now named Charlie (short for Charlene), she has achieved her dream of a loving home and family.  Congratulations, Charlene!

"Snowflake" came to us on November 16, 2018, from Riverbank.  A DunRoamin' volunteer had noticed cat tracks outside DunRoamin' late at night on November 13, 2018 and the rescue operation began.   A live trap was set and eyes were peeled for this little boy.  It had been very cold recently and he obviously needed help.  On the morning of Friday, November 16, 2018, he entered our live trap for food and his life changed forever.

Snowflake was immediately examined by his new best vet friend and the following was learned:  he was born about May 16, 2017, so was only about a year and a half old.   Other than having an old fracture on his left front foot, he was relatively healthy.   We've been monitoring for frostbite injuries on his ears, tail and feet - it's been very cold out there lately.  His pads started to fall off, but he's fine as new skin forms.  Snowflake vomited up onions, a piece of a garbage bag, etc - it appears he's been surviving by eating out of a dumpster, but all that ended today.  He is now safe, warm, has been neutered and his vaccines are complete.  He's happy to have a warm, safe place to sleep and plenty of food and love.  He's very grateful to his rescuers for their time, energy and effort spent in bringing him to safety.

On February 5, 2019, Snowflake was adopted by a lady in Perth-Andover where he'll join DunRoamin's Dalton who was adopted on January 5, 2019.  They'll be best friends!  Congratulations to all!

"Sylvenia" and her two babies Scratch and Dent came to us on July 17, 2018 from the Cloverdale colony where approximately 70 cats and kittens had been living and reproducing at an alarming rate as they had not been spayed or neutered.  This home appeared to be a popular "dropping off" place.  Fortunately, a senior gentleman and his nephew were caring for the cats and kittens to the best of their ability, but they were rapidly becoming outnumbered and overwhelmed and asked for help.   Along with some friends, we cleaned up this colony, spayed and neutered them and found new homes for all.

Sylvenia was born about July 17, 2017 and her babies were only about a month old.  They were fostered by our most busy foster mother and father - they've fostered well over 125 cats, kittens, dogs and puppies for us, so you know they were in the best hands possible.  Thanks, Mandy and Bryan!

Sylvenia's babies were adopted together on August 20, 2018.  She is slight in stature but is huge in love and personality.  She was initially very timid and untrusting, but she's learned that everyone here is a friend and now enjoys being patted and cuddled - she knows how good she's got it now!   She'd like a quiet home where she can live without fear of predators or the many other dangers she'd become much too familiar with.  Her first year of life may have been difficult, but the best is yet to come for her.  Sylvenia loves to chase a laser light and she loves to carry her red toy around.  She purrs when picked up and will cuddle on your shoulder.

On February 2, 2019, Sylvenia met a young lady from Saint John who fell in love with her in no time flat!!  Sylvenia is now a Saint John resident where she'll rule her new kingdom and be spoiled, just like in her dreams!  Congratulations, Sylvenia.  Don't forget to send photos.  We'll all miss you!

"Zephyr," his brother Klein and sisters Burr and Chapin came to us on September 17, 2018 from Cloverdale, near Hartland, NB, where they were a part of a colony of approximately 70 cats who were breeding unchecked.  Having started from just two cats who had been dropped at this location, their numbers increased exponentially over a very short time.  There would soon be no food, little shelter and the cold winter months would quickly be upon them.  A gentleman asked for help with spaying and neutering them and finding them new homes.

Zephyr was born about May 17, 2018 and is very social as he had been socialized by humans since birth.  The majority of his friends and family were feral, so, after being spayed or neutered and vaccinated for rabies, they were placed in warm barns where they will live out their lives in much more comfort under the watchful eyes of their new owners.

Zephyr has been neutered, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV (negative for both) and treated for parasites.  He's perfectly happy and healthy and anxious to go to a family - he's been dreaming of that for quite some time now!  They'd like to thank their foster mother for giving them a great foster home to start their new lives and are looking forward to the next step - a permanent home and family!  Since January 8, 2019, he and his friends have been fostered at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, NB where they're enjoying a wonderful time!  Please check out The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe - drop by and visit!

On January 29, 2019, Zephyr was happy to learn that he had been invited to join a family in Fredericton where he'll be a new brother to three other young cats.

"Starling" came to us on September 5, 2018 from the Cloverdale area (near Hartland, NB) where he was part of a colony of approximately 70 cats who were living in and around outbuildings where they hoped to survive.  A gentleman was doing his best to provide some food and shelter, but 70 is a huge number of cats to care for!   As he was soon due to move from the area, there was no one to care for them and to continue to allow them to breed was not an acceptable solution.  There would soon not be enough food or shelter in the coming winter months and too many were sure to become sick, injured or freeze or starve to death.  They needed help.  Starling was born about May 5, 2018 and although he was initially scared (who wouldn't be?) he's done so much better day by day.  He's been living with more than a dozen other kittens around his age and he loves it!

DunRoamin' has spayed and neutered almost all of the 70 Cloverdale cats and has accepted all sick or injured cats as well as any kittens who were not yet feral and therefore might have a chance at living as pets.  This number totals 25 to date.  Most others have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies and moved to barns where they will live out their lives safely as barn cats.  Starling is grateful for his opportunity for a complete change in his life.  He's looking forward to a warm home and loving family where he'll live happily ever after!  Starling was very happy to be invited to stay at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Fredericton while she awaited a home.  Thanks to Korey, Shona and all the staff who treated her so well!  We're all grateful!

On January 29, 2019, Starling got his wish when a young lady who volunteers at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, where Starling and several of his friends were fostered, chose him as a new friend for her cat, Tabby.  Congratulations, Starling!  Don't forget to send lots of photos!

"Chyler" returned to us on January 5, 2019.  She originally came to DunRoamin' from Grand Falls, NB, on November 18, 2015 where she and her two sisters were going to be euthanized because they were thought to be too wild.  We couldn't allow that to happen, so we accepted all three.  Chyler was adopted to a home in Keswick Ridge in April, 2018 and did her best to get along with the other cats in the home, but although she loved the male cat, was not happy with living with two other female cats.

With sadness, Chyler was returned to DunRoamin' where she might be happier and find a new home.  She enjoys one or two other cats, preferably male, or would do very well as an only cat.  She loves humans and will purr and cuddle as long as she's allowed!  She has BEAUTIFUL green eyes!  Her previous family reports the following:  "Chyler is a beautiful cat.  Although she was not one you could pick up, she would lay beside you no matter where you were and purr up a storm (she has a beautiful loud purr).  She also loves to head butt and to go up on her hind legs to get a head rub.  She loves to play with toys and would often be found sleeping near Wind (her male feline friend).  She has a very loud meow and would talk to us often telling us good morning."

On January 25, 2019, Chyler was chosen by a very nice lady from Grafton to be her only pet.  Chyler will live a life of luxury with her new family which includes three young children - they can't wait!  Congratulations, Chyler.  Send us photos and updates!

"Dalton" came to us on November 1, 2018 from Hartland where he had been hanging around the home of a person who was unable to take him in.  Dalton had fleas, ear mites, an abscess on top of his head, moderate tartar and gingivitis.

Dalton's head injury was shaved, cleaned, flushed and treated, he was given pain medication and antibiotics and was soon fine.  He was already neutered upon his arrival, so he's belonged to someone at some point.  He was a bit stressed at this new environment, but two minutes of talking and patting made him roll on his back to get a belly rub.  We hope he can have a safe new home soon.  He was born about November 1, 2013.

On January 25, 2019, Dalton was excited to learn that he was invited to live with a nice lady in Perth-Andover where he'll be her very best friend.  Congratulations, Dalton.  Send lots of photos!

"Chase" came to us on July 13, 2018 from Lower Brighton, NB, where he had been found in a dooryard all alone.  He was thin, mildly dehydrated, had fleas, ear mites, ulcers on his tongue and lips and had a fever.  His parasite problem was addressed and he was treated for his ulcers.  He's now fine, thanks to the care he received from his favourite new vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.

Chase purred during his entire examination, very happy to be warm, safe and loved.  He is very obviously affectionate, loving and playful.  It is estimated that he was born about May 1, 2018.  This handsome and fortunate little guy is perfectly fine and ready to go to a home now!  He's playful and he loves other cats.  Check out his beautiful pewter hue!

Chase was fostered by a kind lady in Meductic, then returned to us to find a home.  He is a real sweetheart who loves other cats and all people, regardless of age or gender!  He loves a laser light and he loves to play with his feline and human friends.  On January 2, 2018, Chase went to be fostered at The Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe, Two Nations Crossing, Fredericton, where he had a wonderful time with his new friends.  There he met a wonderful lady and . . .

. . . on January 19, 2018, Chase was adopted into a home in Waasis where he will be a new sibling for DunRoamin's McCrae, now known as Harley.  Congratulations, Chase!  You've got it made!  Have fun, and send us LOTS of photos!

"Rhubarb" came to us on May 6, 2018 from Glassville, NB when she and her siblings (Kix, Jakoba, May and foster brother Bonsai) (see below) were born to Tovah, who had been brought to be spayed so that the colony in which they were living would not continue to grow and allow more of the pain and suffering already displayed by members of this colony.  Tovah gave birth almost immediately upon arrival.  Unfortunately, May, one of Rhubarb's siblings, was unable to survive, regardless of the medical care she immediately received.  You can read about her on our Pet Memorials page.

Rhubarb's mom, Tovah, was part of this colony of 19 cats who were breeding out of control and had no one to watch out for their health, nutrition or safety.  Several cats and kittens had already died at this location and the remainder needed help.  We accepted seven from this colony (Tovah, Bonsai, Jakoba, Rhubarb, Gordo, Splinter and Kix) and spayed, neutered and provided rabies vaccines, food and other care required by the others.   We are able to do this only because of the support of so many caring and generous people.  Thank you.

Rhubarb is a very cute little girl who hopes for a loving home as soon as she's ready to leave her mom.  She was initially very timid but has become much more confident under the loving care of her foster mother.  She'd like to thank her foster mom for taking in her family and for providing such good care for them until they're ready for their very own permanent family.  We're all forever in your debt for your compassionate care of these little fur balls.

On January 11, 2019, Rhubarb learned that she would never have to leave her home and family.  She and her siblings are now permanent members of the only loving family they've ever known.  We're grateful for all they've received and the happiness and love they'll experience for the rest of their lives.  Congratulations to all!

"Jakoba" came to us on May 6, 2018 from Glassville, NB when she and her three siblings (Kix, Rhubarb and May) (see below) were born to Tovah (see above), who had been brought to be spayed so that the colony in which they were living would not continue to grow and allow more of the pain and suffering already experienced by members of this colony.  Unfortunately, May, one of her babies, was unable to survive, regardless of the medical care she immediately received.  You can read about her on our Pet Memorials page.

Jakoba's mom, Tovah, was part of this colony of 19 cats who were breeding out of control and had no one to watch out for their medical, nutritional or safety requirements.  Several cats and kittens had already died at this location and the remainder desperately needed help.  We accepted seven from this colony (Tovah, Bonsai, Jakoba, Rhubarb, Gordo, Splinter and Kix) and spayed, neutered and provided rabies vaccines, food and other care required by the others.  We are able to do this only because of the support of so many caring and generous supporters.  Thank you.

Jakoba is a very cute little girl who hopes for a loving home as soon as she's healthy and old enough to leave her mom.  We'll take good care of her until then, including her nutritional, medical, emotional and play requirements!!  She'd like to thank her foster mom for taking in her family and for taking such good care of them until they're ready for their very own permanent family.  We're all forever in your debt for your compassionate care of these little furballs.

On January 11, 2019, Jakoba was so happy to learn that she and her entire family, including her foster brother, Bonsai, wouldn't ever have to leave the home they know and love.  They're now permanent family members!  Congratulations!!

"Kix" came to us on May 6, 2018 from Glassville, NB when he and his three siblings (Rhubarb, Jakoba and May) (see above) were born to Tovah (see above), who had been brought to be spayed so that the colony in which they were living would not continue to grow and allow more of the pain and suffering already displayed by members of this colony.  Tovah gave birth almost immediately upon arrival.  Unfortunately, May, one of Kix's siblings, was unable to survive, despite the medical care she immediately received.  You can read about her on our Pet Memorials page.

Kix's mom, Tovah, was part of this colony of 19 cats who were breeding out of control and had no one to watch out for their medical, nutritional or safety requirements.  Several cats and kittens had already died at this location and the remainder needed help.  We accepted seven from this colony who desperately required help (Tovah, Bonsai, Jakoba, Rhubarb, Gordo, Splinter and Kix) and spayed, neutered and provided rabies vaccines, food and other care required by the others.  We are able to do this only because of the support of so many caring and generous people.  Thank you.

Kix is a very cute little boy who hopes for a loving home soon.  We'll take good care of him until then, including his nutritional, medical, emotional and play requirements!!  He'd like to thank his foster mom for taking in his family and for providing such good care for them.  We're all forever in your debt for your compassionate care of these little furballs.

On January 11, 2019, Kix was elated to learn that he and his family would never have to leave their wonderful foster home.  They're permanent family!!  Congratulations to all!!

"Bonsai" came to us on May 6, 2018 from Glassville where he had been born into a feral colony of cats who needed help.  Several had already passed away, several were injured and several needed medical care.  He was found in a wooden crate with three deceased siblings.  Bonsai was born about May 3, 2018, so was about three days older than Kix, Jacoba and Rhubarb, but they have all been raised by Tovah, a generous momma who took him in to ensure he would survive.  She nursed him and made sure he got all the love and care she bestowed on her own three kittens.  He is very grateful for her love.  Between her and his foster mom, they are the only reasons he will now experience a warm, caring, loving world for the rest of his life.

Bonsai looks forward to having his very own family, although he'd be grateful if one of his new siblings could be adopted with him - they're family now, and they mean everything to him.  He'd like to thank all those responsible for saving him and his family/friends and is eager to spend the rest of his life showing his gratitude.  He'd also like to remind everyone how very important spaying and neutering is - it saves lives.  Seriously.

On January 11, 2019, Bonsai's best wish became reality when he was adopted by his foster mom.  And to make things even happier, his siblings Kix, Rhubarb and Jacoba are staying also!  Congratulations, everyone!

"Solo" came to us on March 20, 2018 from Northampton.  He was part of the DunRoamin/PetSmart Charities Woodstock Community Cat program initiated to help spay and neuter unowned cats in the area in order to prevent the birth of more sick, injured and homeless cats - there are already way too many without families to care for them.  Solo was born about March 20, 2016.

Upon examination, Solo was found to have ear mites and a large wound on his back near his tail. There was no medical care available to him at all, so we accepted him and he became our responsibility.  Solo's wounds were infected and he badly needed medical care.  Solo was very happy to be safe, fed and warm.  He has been neutered, tested for FIV and FeLV and is fully vaccinated.  He is very affectionate and greatly enjoys the company of humans - he talks constantly if you'll listen and answer him!  His wound has healed nicely with lots of medical care from his friends at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  He's very grateful for the care, food, warm bed and feline and human friendship. He has a wonderfully loving personality and can't wait to have his very own human!  He is currently fostered with his friend Chaps while he awaits his own permanent family!

On January 9, 2019, we learned that Solo had requested to remain as a permanent family member, and his foster family just couldn't say "No!"  And to make things even that much happier, his friend Chaps (see below) was also invited to become a full-time family member!  Yahoo!  Congratulations!

"Chaps" came to us on November 15, 2017 from Riverbank where she had been found near a barn.  She was thin, starving, had fleas, tartar on her teeth and was extremely matted with burdocks.  She had pulled much of her fur off her hind end in an attempt to relieve herself of the extremely thick and uncomfortable mats.

Chaps was born about November 15, 2015.  She was not totally comfortable with being with us at first, but that certainly changed once she realized her wonderful new situation!!  She soon settled in her warm bed and displayed her gratitude for the plentiful, delicious and nutritious food and all the water she can drink - remember, she was starving!!  She is a beautiful long-haired buff tortoiseshell cat who is extremely appreciative of her new friends and surroundings.

Although she's very grateful for her DunRoamin' family, Chaps' dream is to be warm, safe and secure in the comfort of her very own family for the rest of her life.  She had already been spayed upon her arrival, so she must have had a family at one time.  She'd really love to have one again.  She is sweet, loving and affectionate.  As of October 25, 2018, she was fostered by a young man and woman in Tracey Mills while she awaits a permanent home.  Thank you for giving her this opportunity!

On January 9, 2019, we learned that Chaps had decided that she'd like to remain as a permanent family member of her foster family.  How could they possibly refuse?  And as an added bonus, her foster brother, Solo (see above) was invited to join the family too!!  Yay!  Congratulations!  Way to go, everyone!

"Moonshine" came to DunRoamin' on July 19, 2018 from Holmesville where she was found in the grass all alone at 1 o'clock in the morning by a young lady who, thankfully, didn't give up until she could bring her to safety.  Being scared, it took a while to catch her, but she was soon warm, fed and safe.

Moonshine was born about May 17, 2018.  She had ear mites, infected eyes, she was starving and had an infected mass under her tongue.  She was treated for all her maladies and the mass was removed from her mouth.  Moonshine was extremely happy to have lots of food and be loved.  She was soon 100% healthy and she's very affectionate - loves to be held and can't seem to stop purring!!  As you can see by the photo, she's bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and hoping to meet that special someone very soon!

On January 7, 2019, Moonshine was adopted by her foster family who had been so smitten with her that they couldn't dream of her leaving their home.  Congratulations, Moonshine!  You've got it made now!  Don't forget to send us pictures!

"Matata" came to us on the morning of October 12, 2018.  When our Stray Caretaker arrived at work, he found a tote outside our door and inside were Hakuna, her mom Fame and siblings Fortune and Matata.  They were cold, scared and covered in urine and feces - they had most probably been left there since early evening the night before (after we were closed), and it was a very cool night.  They were quickly warmed up, cleaned, fed and were examined by a veterinarian to ensure their health.  They have now received the care they required, including, and most importantly, spays and neuters as well as full vaccines, tests for FIV and FeLV and parasite control.  They were born about July 12, 2018.

These kittens are the result of still more unspayed/unneutered pets.  Had Fame been spayed or had her kittens' father(s) been neutered, these kittens would not have added to the already-too-large-number of homeless pets for whom no one is able or willing to care.  We are grateful for the support of such generous people who have donated to allow us to continue our work of helping these tiny abandoned cats and kittens.

On January 5, 2019, Matata was happy to learn that she had been chosen to join a very nice family in Keswick Ridge where she'll be a new sibling for DunRoamin' cats Prentiss, Garcia and Wainwright.  Congratulations, Matata!  Happy New Year!  Send lots of photos!!

"Garber" came to us from the Cloverdale colony of approximately 70 cats on July 18, 2018, near Hartland, NB.  He and his sister Elle (see below) were fostered by a lady in Aroostook.  Garber was neutered on August 15, 2018 and he is fully up to date on vaccines and parasite protocol.  He looks forward to having a new home, preferably with his sister Elle.   He was born about May 1, 2018.

Garber is more outgoing than his sister Elle, although she has come a very long way from the timid little kitten who first came to us so many months ago.  Garber hopes Elle might be adopted with him to ensure she is comfortable, as she loves her brother and has never been separated from him.  Garber currently has a small bit of upper respiratory infection (a cold) but will very soon be 100%!  He's looking forward to his very own family.  He and Elle are very happy to play, cuddle and sleep together and they're looking forward to a home, hopefully together!

On January 5, 2019, Garber got his very best wish when he met a young lady from Fredericton who was looking for someone who was handsome, loving and playful.  He was the first to say, "I'm your kitty!!"  He easily won her heart and, as an added bonus, Elle was also invited to join the family which also includes two young boys who LOVE cats.  Congratulations, Garber!  Don't forget to send lots of photos and tell us all about your new life!  Happy New Year!!

"Elle" came to us from the Cloverdale colony of approximately 70 cats on July 18, 2018 near Hartland, NB.  She and her brother Garber (see above) were fostered by a lady in Aroostook to ensure they received lots of socialization, then came back to us at DunRoamin'.  Elle is comfortable with people and her surroundings and has been spayed, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for all parasites.  She looks forward to having a new home.  She was born about May 1, 2018.

Elle used to be a little timid and would like to have the comfort of her brother, so we'd like to adopt them together if at all possible.  She's come a very long way and is now much more outgoing and playful!  Right now she has a little bit of upper respiratory infection (a cold) but will very soon be 100%!

On January 5, 2019, Elle was ecstatic to learn that she and her brother Garber had been invited to join a family in Fredericton where they'll have lots of space to run and play and lots of love from their wonderful family which includes two young boys.  You'll have lots of people to play with all day long!  Congratulations, Elle!  Happy New Year!!

"Hakuna" came to us on the morning of October 12, 2018.  When our Stray Caretaker arrived at work, he found a tote and inside were Hakuna, her mom Fame and siblings Fortune and Matata.  They were cold, scared and covered in urine and feces - they had most probably been left there since early evening the night before (after we were closed), and it was a very cool night.  They were cleaned, warmed up, fed and were examined by a veterinarian to ensure their health.  They received all care they required, including, and most importantly, spays and neuters as well as full vaccines, tests for FIV and FeLV and parasite control.  They were born about July 12, 2018.

These kittens are the result of still more unspayed/unneutered pets.  Had Fame been spayed or had her kittens' father(s) been neutered, these kittens would not have added to the already-too-large-number of homeless pets for whom no one is able or willing to care.  Hakuna is the 210th cat we have accepted so far this year.  Of this total, 124 sick/injured/abused/neglected cats and dogs arrived in the past 133 days.  With such a huge influx in such a small amount of time, our resources were at an all-time critical low.  Thankfully, many people stepped up to donate to ensure these beautiful little babies were cared for.

On January 4, 2019, Hakuna was adopted by a very nice young couple from Knowlesville.  As an added bonus, Bowie got to go along as a foster kitty!  Congratulations to all!  Send lots of photos, Hakuna.  We'll all miss you.  Happy New Year!
